Murphy has already lost to Robbinsville and could lose to Rosman, how is that in line for an easy championship?
The NCHSAA uses the third year in a realignment cycle's ADM numbers to do realignment, there will be a few small tweaks but not many.
So yes, for the most part these are the numbers they will use for realignment. It's stupid not to use the most up to date numbers possible, but that's how they do it.
Disgruntled? Lol not so much. I don't care which playoffs Murphy plays in. They play who is front of them like always. But speaking of being flattered by someone following your posts, Murphy fans may start thinking you are downright falling in love with the bulldogs as much as you obsess over them! You're getting as bad as bk used to be. He's been pretty quiet this year though. I'll give him that. Maybe you will be too if your jackets ever beat Murphy again. Hang in there.
As mbdfan mentioned earlier in this thread, the "opt-out" option for some teams that would otherwise qualify, could shift things one way or the other....
At the moment, Murphy is the last team in the 1A Playoffs with these 4 smaller schools possibilly determining whether they stay there, or move up to the big 1AA.....
Creswell(1-7)...The Tigers record is incomplete because of an earlier scheduled game with Mattamuskeet that was either cancelled or postponed?...A win, and the Tigers might have an option to choose Yea or Nay to the Playoffs?
Rocky Mount Prep(1-5)-The Jaguars record is also incomplete with 2 games left on the schedule, so I'm unsure of whether they have 2 wins or not?
East Columbus(1-8)-Will play at West Columbus in the season finale with a playoff berth possibilly on the line...
Elkin(1-8)-The Bucking-Elks host Alleghany tonight...A win, and they too will have the option to choose Yea or Nay?
Any of these 4 teams that win 2 games or more will bump Murphy to 1AA...
As mentioned by KW23, the Elkin/Alleghany game tonight is one to watch...

Before Friday night (10/30), 64 teams had 2 wins. 53 teams had 3 wins. After you count up the 3 win teams, if there are more 2 win teams than spots left, would it come down to a draw possibly to fill in the remaining spots?
I'm sure they would look first to see if the wins were in or out of conference. Conference wins probably taking priority over non conference
Agree, and think that South Robeson would probably lose the draw since they have only 2 wins with one of those(West Bladen) resulting from a forfeit...
Be interesting to see how it all shakes out next saturday, but it does appear that Murphy will now be the last team in the 1A playoffs after Elkin lost last night to Alleghany....
Still curious to know whether that Creswell/Mattamuskeet game will be played or not?
A Creswell win in that game would give the Tigers 2 wins, but it's hard to almost impossible to find any info about Creswell,Cape Hatteras and Mattamuskeet as those 3 schools seem to have difficulty reporting their results every friday?
Ditto for Rocky Mt. Prep?

I agree knine. I was at the game last night and it was awful. I have never seen that many penalties from lack of discipline. You would think that it would have gotten fixed at halftime but it just seemed to be worse
The Tigers may have won that game with Mattamuskeet, but still don't have confirmation of the score?
That could change the 1A state playoff landscape if the Tigers make the playoffs?
Was just curious to when teams that want to "opt-out" of the playoffs have to let the NCHSAA know about their intentions?
Anybody know that answer?

I think Murphy will get to stay in the 1A this year. I just see too many teams opting out. But I could be wrong.
When are the Creswell's, Mattamuskeet's, Cape Hatteras, Columbia's, Kipp Pride, Kestral Heights, Rocky Mt. Prep, etc. and a few more very small school's going to decide to play 8 man football? Participation would still be a struggle but less of one & they could be competitive every Friday. Just a thought.
Well Murphy81 - looks like your team is playing in the JOKE bracket. Maybe you can call up Gentry to get him to "opt out" since it's such a joke. LOL
