Adjusted NCHSAA rankings

If you knew the details about where Fortin and Ruder were on learning the offense you might think different.
Fortin looked decent for 3 quarters against VT!!! I didn’t want Harris for the same reasons....

If we had a chance to do something it would be different in my opinion

I promise there is not. WRH is a different team than their history, probly cause of personnel. They are still capable of beating anyone in 2a.
I agree with you. I think it’s crazy that they are ranked that low.

I've watched the soccer rankings and the football rankings throughout the season and I'll just simply say it's unfair to have MaxPreps determine the seeds I see situations where there is gross negliance. I'd rather a flip of the coin than a opinion. Rankings are fun throughout the season but when it comes down to home and away for important games I'd expect it to be very simple and fair.but situations where it could be a toss-up flip a coin. I won't go into specific situations, it'll happen inn football and it's certainly happened in soccer. The NCHSAA shirked their duties by farming it out. I'm sure $$$$$ was involved it always is but it's their duties to seed teams. If we don't like their decision tough, they're the association and you have to accept it but letting a 3rd party decide is just lame. I know many will disgrer with me but JMHO.

I disagree. I have wanted a power poll but my wish was for a combination of Simmons, Massey, Drew Pasteur, and MaxPreps.

At least they are not dropping a loss. Remember when Richmond dropped the home loss to Butler giving both
an undefeated record. Richmond won on a draw of the straw. It was then determined that head to head, even if dropped, was required to be used in that instance so the NCHSAA got it right but at first it was ridiculous. Indy a fourth seed with two one loss teams (dropped the loss) in front of them after winning their first two titles.

The item that seems to be throwing it into chaos is removing the point differential. North Stanly goes on the road and beats North Rowan by nearly 40 and is listed as one spot higher. To limit the point differential is one thing but to eliminate it totally is absolute stupidity.

We know the NCHSAA Adjusted Poll is a fiasco with the removal of the point differential.

What do you think of the standard MaxPrep ranking? Here they are with the NCHSAA version in parenthesis.

MaxPreps Ranking (Adjusted for the NCHSAA)
1. Northeastern (1)
2. Hibriten (9)
3. South Point (18)
4. Reidsville (5)
5. Randleman (4)
6. Shelby (16)
7. Pisgah (2)
8. SW Edgecombe (10)
9. South Granville (3)
10. Mtn Heritage (8)
11. Clinton (7)
12. S Columbus (14)
13. North Davidson (17)
14. E Rutherford (19)
15. Kinston (6)
16. Bandys (12)

Teams in the Top 16 of the Adjusted Poll that are not in the top 16 of the MaxPreps Poll.

The most rediculous seeding error the NCHSAA ever made some years ago was "inheriting the seed" if you beat a higher seed how stupid, other teams penalized for something they had no part of

Pure disbelief the NCHSAA is going to use this model for seeding purposes. This a desperate attempt to control something without the know how to do it appropriately.

Wiz...I know Reidsville was the benefit of that stupid rule when in 1998 the Rams went on the road and beat top seeded South Columbus.....Your Dark Horses then had to travel to Reidsville even tho Clinton was seeded ahead of the Rams.......Reidsville won the game 34-33....not sure if the result would have been the same if the game had been played in Clinton............

The madness of this idiotic ranking system is that the three strongest (probable) 2AA teams are ranked 9. Hibriten, 16. Shelby, and 18. South Point.

All of these teams will have to go on the road early in the playoffs. It will not affect the outcome of the games ( these teams will win on the road or at home), but it denies the fans of the best teams getting to see their teams play unless they make a road trip - which most fans will not, or can not do.

Last year it was Conference finish, then win loss record, then max preps ranking.
Win loss record has been thrown out the window and this adjusted max preps ranking is a joke.
I could handle a power power similar to the old BCS that incorporated several polls.

Hibriten is projected as the #2 seed in the west(1 possible road game before state), and Shelby/SP winner is projected #4(2 possible home games)... The loser is projected #7 which is same as last year since they have to be seeded after all conference champions

Im sorry but eye test has to factor in somewhere somehow. There is no way the loser of SP and Shelby should have to go on the road.

Yes...in 1998, in 1A East, #16 North Edgecombe won at #1 Camden in the 1st Rd 8-6, then hosted the next three rounds as a 16 seed, won them all, before losing in state finals to Starmount....they were probably good enough to win those other three on the road, but their opponents had to feel robbed, especially in 3rd & 4th round
