AC Reynolds @ Shelby

One other observation on Shelby.I could not distinguish numbers on your home jerseys, especially the single digit ones.Maybe next order get larger numerals? From an old man, that is all.

September 4, @ South Point; that's the only thing Shelby needs to be focused on.
I agree. South Point will be tough stop. Our D the last few years has gotten better as the season goes. Hopefully that trend will continue. I don't agree with some on here who say Lee is only good because of his receivers. That is partly true but Lee has a big time arm when he plants and doesn't throw off his back foot. The throws he made against freedom were really good. Not to mention he hasn't played much since he was a 10th grader. He's already putting up crazy numbers and Shelby has only played two games.

Godevilsgo, your pretty smart with football and netural to Shelby -Crest...u have seen both..whats your take of when they meet end of year.

If I could pick that game I would quit my job and be a sports better full time. You're talking about two different animals. Crest has its best athletes on defense and Shelby on offense. It's going to take more than one player to keep Justin Foster out of the backfield. Kid is going to be a very good player in college and will get bigger at that stage.

Win or lose to South Point I think they are the best 2A or 2AA team in the state. If they win I think they are top five in the 3A or 3AA as well. You could take all of Catawba County and make one team and Crest or Shelby would win that game. Yes I honestly believe this. There is just too much quickness and speed on both of these teams.

Just seems unfair that Shelby has that many pure athletes. Crest corners will be able to match up much better than any team Shelby has played. Shelby's offensive line play will determine their fate. If Shelby wins Friday night this is a top three game of the year in North Carolina football.

After Friday night there is nothing for both to look forward to until the last game. It's going to be boring for both fan bases.

Make get a little slow after this Friday but you never know....that's why they play the game.

We'll just have to keep monitoring this to see if Lee can move into the #1 spot in the nation from #2....

I had to remind my brother last night at the Shelby fans who complained when Coach Ware took over for the Golden Lions and his offensive mindset of pass before the run.

The issue with his first year was that we didn't have the athletes to run the spread (QB or WR) but we had two incredible running backs that were perfect for the Wing-T. Had we stuck with that offense just one more year, West Stokes would have never beat us, and we would have won the SC in 2011, no doubt.

Looking back now, it's hard to complain about anything....two in a row....looking for a 3-peat....a team full of incredible athletes with loads more coming over the next several years....It's Great...To Be.....A Shelby Fan!
