We lost one of our top safeties for the year I heard?
Yes, he's gone, unfortunately. He tore his ACL in practice this week. It brought my son to tears. Hate that for the young man, hate it, hate it, hater it. He's a student athlete, great in the classroom, a senior leader on the field, high character young man. At 6'3" 195, he's been on the radar of some FCS, D1AA schools. Hopefully, someone still gives him a shot, but again, he will attend college, regardless. He's a very intelligent young man, has the grades and test scores to go anywhere.

The thing that I'm most proud of regarding this class of 2018 is they are some high character young men, and I am not being bais. Not that I have a problem with these things, I love kids being kids, but this team doesn't have a lot of big personalities like previous years, they don't get involved with the back in forth w/ rival schools on social media, they just take everything in stride, and go out and play football. I've literally had someone tell me that this team doesn't have any "street cats" on it, that's a reason for some of our so called struggles.

I absolutely believe they should put Joc at safety. He would be hell back there.
Fuller imo, not sure Joc has quick enough hips to be in the secondary. Joc would probably be good on run support.

Yeah, I did think of that, too, having hips is one attribute needed w/ Dbs, but on the high school level, you can get away w/ playing players out of position. Washington is a big hitter, though. He will knock your head off. His older brother, Carlos Washington, was one of the best safeties to ever play in Cleveland County.

I agree w/ you, though, on Fuller. He can fill that position. Washington needs to be on that field in some capacity, though. We have several young men on the sideline who could be contributing. You've mentioned Pettis in several posts, he's super athletic. Crestuff, despite being a Crest die hard, has known Washington and several other Shelby players and their capabilities since youth football, hence him asking about Washington. Washington could be a big contributor in some fashion, maybe linebacker.

Only way it happens is if y'all leave the varsity at home and bring the blue devils to play on Friday :D

Played at Chase in 2006. Rained SOOOO hard and was very cold.

None of you were there. I was one of 3 people in the stands.

The 3rd guy may have actually been a corpse that no one had come to retrieve from the week before.

I was there under a plastic tarp with 65lion and his wife rained so hard we couldn’t see ! The corpse may have been me you speak of lol

Back years ago at Freedom a hail storm hit and torrential lighting everyone left stadium but one moron standing up on top with his umbrella .... yeah I was that moron .... they came back after the long delay and beat us

We ended up getting under the bleachers and watching through the cracks. I have no idea why we stayed for that game.

Are there any two schools in the state (or nation) that have played each other 53 times with one team never winning a single time?
