Got roped into going to the Burns game last night. Long ride from Gastonia but I wasn’t driving so it was ok. Read where Burns is losing 12 seniors. Lost in the third round and they seemed to be the favorite to win it coming into the season. Don’t know much about the team besides what I read on here and what my buddies tell me. The second pitcher which I was told to be Burns ace came in and did what he needed to. How come he didn’t start? Buddies said Burns was losing 12 seniors, that’s a ton but they said they had 3 underclassmen starting including a freshman and sophomore. They won the state a couple of years ago with some of the players that are leaving. The 3 underclassmen that play now seem to very good players according to what I hear. Do they have 6 to fill the roles that are leaving?
Burns is losing a lot including their best 4 pitchers. Burns' ace, Putnam, was going to be the starting pitcher Tuesday night. When they got rained out the coach decided Wednesday night to start Jackson Tony, who pitched last Friday night. I assume the decision was made to save Putnam to pitch against East Rutherford, thinking they could defeat LC without using Putnam on the mound. Tony, who had to rest 4 days after the Friday outing was not available to pitch on Tuesday. Burns had played LC earlier this season at Burns winning 7-2. Tony and Putnam pitched that game. Obviously, the coach's strategy didn't work last night.

Didn’t know all that but no, it didn’t work out.
What do they have coming up from JV or what’s already on varsity that will help next year. Seems like a nice program but losing that could bring a down time in wins
All 3 of the 3A teams from the Mideastern 4A/3A conference were in action tonight in the 3rd round.

The Mideastern conference is strong and these 3 took it on the chin in conference play. To make it to the 3rd round and end the season with close games is a testament to the strength of the conference.
