    I agree. Richmond has always had great JV squads but this years team is not. Like I stated earlier...it will be several years before Richmond is competitive again. I feel major coaching changes is what's needed before a turnaround can begin.

    Frankly at this point I would be surprised if Richmond can even get past Southern Lee. Maybe 2-3 wins at best. Not being a pessimist, just a realiest. Still love my Raiders!!

    It's going to be several years before Richmond will be competitive again. Varsity just doesn't have the talent and the JV team is even worse. Maybe a new head coach and offensive defensive coordinators would help. Don't know...it just breaks my heart to see such a storied and proud program...

    I'm afraid player and coaching talents have dried up in Richmond county. I know you can't win championships every year but as they say defense wins championships......something Richmond hasn't had since Daryl Barnes days.

    I think I saw the play you are referring to! Was it the wide pitch to Waddell sweeping out of the backfield where he ran ~90 yards for a TD in the 14 -0 game against WC?

    I said Waddell ran the kick-off back but I was basing that on what someone else said several years back. It could have been someone else and it probably wasn't 100 yards...it just sounded good! No matter, the throat slash fired up everyone on the Richmond team!! The refs had nothing to do...

    Not quite! West Charlotte didn't just blow a 19 point lead, Richmond blew them out after West Charlotte's QB (Macklin?) went over to Richmond's side of the field and did a 'Throat Slash" after scoring a TD to go up 26-7. Major mistake!! Michael Waddell took the following kick-off +100 yards...

    Leesville road has only given up 80 points all year. They beat Wake Forest and held Gibbons to 13 points. So they are for real! Hope the Raiders are prepared, need a full game!
