RAIN

Appvol's post has nothing to do with the federal government.

Meanwhile where do you get your information from.
There were posts before that I was referring to that said the government was not letting help come in and what I have seen on TV. It has been a mess that has not gotten help. They say FEMA does not have the funds to help. But Ukraine gets billions of $$$$$$$$$$ over and over. Sometimes the money needs to stay at home and help people who have lived here for many years, but it also goes to people crossing the border. This Crap pisses me off with our neighbors still without power. My son has not had power since Friday ! ! !

Page @ NW Guilford 10/4

I think this one probably deserves it's own thread.
Page is currently tied for first in the Metro at 2-0 after big margin victories over SW and Ragsdale.
NW beat Western by 20 and lost to Grimsley by 40. Checking in at 1-1.
I imagined NW putting up more points against RJ Reynolds (17) and N Davidson (19). Why is NW not manufacturing as many points this year?

I look for this to be a close game. Much like last years contest that was 7-7 late in the 4th until NW scored late.
Page looks to be getting better as the season goes on and the young players slowly develop and gain experience. I also think this will be a close game that won't be decided until late. NW is a program that is pretty consistent and competitive. But for some reason, they can't seem to take the next step and go from good to great.

Tarboro vs Carver State Championship

If only there were videos of the 98 and 2003 Carver teams. Those teams were even better.
Man, you are right. Carver was loaded with talent back in the day under Keith Wilkes. It makes me ill to see what has happened to football at Carver. A lot of it thanks to Forsyth Co's foolish open enrollment policy and the schools inability to find a coach that can turn that program around, stick it out and build the team up.

Same ole asheboro

Lexington Senior WNCHSAA titles: 1933 34 38 39 40 54 56 67

Dunbar NCHSAC titles: 56 58 59 63

Lexington NCHSAA titles: 85 86

Lexington was the original Davidson County powerhouse. The white and black schools both won tons. In 1967 Lexington had a Remember the Titans season except Charlie England became assistant coach and defensive backs/passing game coach for legendary coach Press Mull. England won titles at Lexington Dunbar whilst Mull won at Lexington Senior. They only lost to Kannapolis Brown 14-9 and beat everyone else like a drum by a 31-5 average. Best team in Lexington history. They beat defending 2A champion North Davidson (moved to 3A in 67) 34-0 and 41-7 in the Piedmont Title playoff before wrecking Lincolnton 33-12 in the WNCHSAA Championship game.

Thomasville won the WNCHSAA title in 64 (only loss to Aboro who won in 58 63 and 65 and who had Tvilles number in the day)

North won 2A in 66 and WNCHSAA tie with Shelby in 75. Shelby beat Lexington 25-0 in 76 after Lexington had won 9 games by shutout. Then the WNCHSAA closed and Lexington won in 85 and 86 before Tville pulled through in 88 and followed with 91 95 04 05 06 08.

I wish Davidson County football would step it back up to what we used to be... maybe someday...
Thanks for all the details and info. The main issue seems to be what happened at these schools to make them fall off so much? Sure, I realize that Lexington's success was some years ago but clearly there is tradition there. Thomasville also seems to have fallen off some after both Allen and Benjie Brown left the coaching ranks. So the question at Thomasville would seem was their success 100% due coaching? Or is there something else going on there? North Davidson seems to have been hurt by the opening of Oak Grove. I remember North consistently being in the 4A playoffs and winning 8-9+ games every season but not winning any state titles. Still, they had a consistent and winning program under Marc Holcombe. I wouldn't say they have fallen off a cliff after the opening of OG. But it appears they are not enjoying the same number of wins ever since they dropped down in classification. As for East, West, South and Central, I never recall any of them even being consistently good. Ledford looks like they have become a consistent winner but I don't recall them ever making deep playoff runs. They don't seem to have the talent to make it past the second round or so of the state playoffs.

Tarboro vs Carver State Championship

Wow! That pre-game speech from Craddock made me want to put the pads on. He could have been a world renown evangelist with that energy. No wonder his teams play hard and are difficult to beat. Also, first time seeing Todd Gurley in High School action. That touchdown run was all on him. Amazing power and determination. Nice TD catch too.

Hough 58 Chambers 3

Chambers could go below pre-Brand levels depending on the next hire. It mirrors WC when Coach Gilchrist left. Flowers Great year, Brand Great year and then the bottom falls out until Harris comes. What was the difference? Coaching. Many coaches came and have good intentions but they weren't on the coaching level of the prior coaches. Created a downward spiral that they have been very blessed to come out of.

Coaching matters. Some coaches can attract players, motivate players and are known in the community. That's the risk of bringing in someone unfamiliar with QC football. Folks knew Brand from his West Meck days even before Indy, and MC. Then he solidified himself at WC. Had he and admin been able to see eye to eye he would have built a dynasty at West Charlotte.

Chambers lost a group of position coaches that just know Charlotte football. They knew who was transferring, who was a middle school baller, who was a youth ball baller, who trained who, where player X lived. They lived, ate, and slept football and had relationships with the players. For them to fall this bad there could be chemistry issues.
You think this is Wiggins last year? I figured he had a few more in him, not because Chambers is gonna be down but because he’s in school administration. He’s going to be a very good high principal in a year or so.

Mack is Done

HC at James Madison took over this year from Curt Cignetti, now at Indiana.

Jamey Chadwell from Liberty, formerly at Coastal Carolina, would be a likely target.

Curious to see how NC State season plays out and if they will be looking for a new HC. Would be interesting if both jobs came open immediately after the season to see how to the two schools approach the search and what guys they go after.
How much for NC State to fire Dave…Didn’t he just get an extension until 2029…

West Stokes

West Stokes plays North Forsyth this Friday for Homecoming. They have a setup at the stadium for folks in the King and surrounding area to drop off items and supplies that are needed in the western part of the state. Water, Can goods, cleaning supplies etc. Also the ticket sales money will be donated to relief fund. I'm hearing they are off to a great start on the donations. I think this is awesome for Football team, Coaching Staff and school to think of folks in need. The drive will continue until after game Friday. More detailed information at weststokes football x
