WE DID IT !!
The NCHSAA, at its semi-annual board meeting this week, voted unanimously to extend the title of "State Champion" to all public high school football champions of the era preceeding the 1977 merger of the WNCHSAA and the NCHSAA. The addendum also included the historicall black public high school football champions of that period, also.
The addendum only included football as other boys sports and girls sports will be addressed at the May meeting.
Prior to this week's decision, only championships won under the NCHSAA governance were included in current resumes of the state's programs.
Great news. Thank you NCHSAA.

Big boy football needs to spend a little more time on their punting teams and a little less time at the barber shop.
And we love the classy finish.

Our elementary school team can execute punts consistently.
Please explain.
4AA is the largest high schools.
OK GREAT! What time can i get a hair cut and do you guys trim beards also?Because, dadgummit, SPe executed all their punts.
You made the first haircut comment.
Then you say thread turned into haircuts.
Is that all you got?
Why all the punt troubles in 4AA?
Okay.......waiting...
What is a "safety"?
How did MC give that up?
You said no points for a punt, but Page got 2 points on a MC punt....oh, is that what you call a "fake" punt?
Earlier in the game, Page ran one of those "fake" punts, but MC did not get 2 points. Soon after, MC got 3 points, so it must be better to wait a while.
Later, the Page punter dropped the ball and kicked it before it hit the ground, but the ball went sideways.
What do you call that?
MC waited a while, then tried for 3, and that kick went sideways, too.
What is that called?
Finally, somebody scored a touchdown. But the did not try to kick the "extra point".
I guess they figured no more kick tries might be a good idea.
