Lady Titans defeat Reynolds 65-55 in a game they led almost all the way. Reynolds put up a fight but the Lady Titans wore them down with their pressure.
I was at that game!!! Very impressed with McDowell they are tough, gritty, and they can flat out play should see the Lady Titans a couple rounds in the playoffs for sure!!! Congratulations on the win!!
I didn’t stay for all the boys game but heard that today!! Hoping he heals soon!!
McDowell Lady Titans with another impressive performance tonight at TC Roberson with a 30 ish point win after beating Reynolds last night.
The boys really had to dig deep tonight without Parkins who luckily avoided any ligament damage or fractures but does have a high ankle sprain and will be out at least a couple weeks. They trailed almost all game before surging late to force OT. In OT they fell behind by 5 before rallying again to win it 69-66. Titans have North Buncombe at home next week and hope to have Parkins back by the Reynolds home game (regularneason finale and likely decides MAC regular season title) on February 13. If he's not able to go then I expect him to be ready for the conference tournament.

Owen is the real deal this year, Mountain Heritage plays them tonight at MHHS. Hopefully we can sneak away with a win. No. 10 For Heritage starting to light it up from behind the three-point line. But yes, Owen is very good. if you want to see a Competitive WHC matchup then come to the game tonight at Heritage, going to be a good one.
I will say this!! Would not mind checking out the ACR vs. Cherokee girls game tonight!!! If you haven't watched Cherokee's girls play yet it's a treat they are good!!!

Cherokee girls are very good. I haven't seen them play yet but hopefully we will in the playoffs. By the way Mountain Heritage boys beat Owen 88 to 69 😯 did not see that score coming to be honest with you. It was a great atmosphere.
I feel sure man both communities are passionate about there schools and teams!! BTW didn't see that score either surprised too!!
Keep us posted on score was gonna buy the game on ac Reynolds hudl but was ridiculous 100 dollars bc u had to buy month subscription couldn't just pay for game

Cherokee should handle Reynolds if they are as good as many say. Even without their top scorer.
Not basketball related but is anyone up in the mountains having issues with fire getting out. From what I heard McDowell Co is having fire issues going on
So far they have avoided houses from my knowledge. There are 2 or 3 separate fires in McDowell. One is 5 miles or so from my house. All the fallen trees left tons of fuel to burn. It's dry here and windy.
Lady braves won 83 - 52. The younger Rogers sister went down beginning of the second half she was killing Reynolds in the first half
Impressive win without older Rogers. IMO, Cherokee is the top team 1-4A in WNC.
McDowell is having a great season. It would be fun to see them play Watauga come playoff time.
I think that would be a competitive game as well. McDowell was up around 20 against Reynolds but let their foot off the gas late. Watauga has the best player in WNC but I like McDowell's depth.
I’ve seen McDowell play twice on NFHS and they seem to play pretty solid defense, as well.
Watauga seems to have “stepped it up” recently. They have played an extremely tough schedule.

Watauga lost to South Caldwell who McDowell beat twice pretty easily.
Titans and Lady Titans had hard fought wins over North Buncombe Friday night. Titans are still without all everything center Rylan Parkins.
That’s true and I think McDowell would win if they played again, but that SC team has really improved recently and would make it more of a game.
Perhaps. McDowell is going through the motions a bit with their easy schedule. They will turn it back up when the time comes I think.
Wataugas Sears scored 50 in that game against South. 2 girls from South were in the 30s Anderson and Wilkes.
That's a top 25 all-time statewide scoring performance by Sears.
Three Freshmen and four Sophomores on that Lady Spartan team, with both Anderson and Wilks being 9th graders. The other Freshman? Emma Bumgarner. Hmm.
