I love to see these WNC guys, and the 1A guys in particular, get a chance at the next level.

The Lions have had a strong program the last several years, and have a stable, steady (probably the one of the longest tenured staffs) group of coaches, and very nice updated football facilities.

They have a good group of guys from WNC schools (Hickory & west from there)... probably close to 20 last year (several from Erwin, Shelby, TC Roberson, Pisgah, Tuscola, etc) along with some 1A guys from Avery, Mitchell, Rosman, and Madison on the roster.

One of their overall best players was the kid from Madison, Ty Snelson.

I hope they continue to comb the mountains for tough, gritty kids and give them a shot.

Congrats to this new group of young men!
