I am in Eastern NC and follow my Chargers mostly through The Star and watch them every Friday online. I was pretty much disgusted by what I watched in the first half. My biggest take away was how unprepared and dis-interested the Crest players looked. I had my doubts about Coach Clark. His only previous head coaching job only yielded 2 wins. I was shocked that the school did not go out and search for a proven coach. Yes he went 16-0 last year but he was also handed the keys to a porsche and just had to keep the car straight. This year the talent is there, Crest dwarfed SP and everyone knows they are athletic. I am not surprised by the SP win but I am surprised at how dominant they were. Looking at the sideline you could tell the Crest coaches were scrambling. Im interested to hear feedback from more knowledgeable Crest fans as too if they think Coach Clark is going to have to rely on getting talent to win or can he actually "coach" his way to wins. Crest did not lack size, speed, or talent friday night. To me they lacked Coaching.. interested to see the feedback.

A good leader would take the SP loss and post it in the locker room, the weight room, and everywhere else the players go. I'd use it as motivation. I'm not a fan of the Chargers by any means. However, 32-1 in the last 33 games and a lot of the faithful fans are drilling the coaching staff and calling out the "want to" of the players. I hope I'm not right, but I have a feeling Crest will be in the big picture when it counts at the end of the season.
What is crazy is normally I read on here where everyone else talks crap about Crest but it looks more like everyone is bashing the fan base. I have to agree. Crest started 0-3 one year and went on to win it all. Give the guy a break. If they lose tonight I would seriously panic though.

I know one thing if Barnes was still here we would learn how to run the ball first and then mix a pass or two in and get better but you have to establish something that you can do!
Only other issue I seen was when your late in a game and you have the lead run the ball and make the other team have to call time outs you don't continue to throw incomplete passes!
But with that said a win is a win let's see if they can make some adjustments in the off week and improve!

Penalties were huge for us tonight also NASA 17 for 152 yards 28 total for both teams ...

Serious question. Rev and I were following on twitter throughout and saw where you went back and forth on qb's a lot. What was that about? And who looked better?
Well Peeler looked pretty good late, but the other kid showed some flashes he had some nerves going on he missed some throws high and threw one pick but he didn't take any sacks and he look fairly comfortable in the pocket!
But the best way to bring a QB along isn't to try and throw it 50 times its to establish the run and get the pressure off of him!
Play action dont so work unless you give them a reason to respect the fake!
Crest had to many penalties on offense that killed most drives,and they stalled..offense needs more work,defense looked good most of the game..ill take the win
I think the D will be pretty good if the O can move the ball alittle bit and give them some rest they are on the field waaaaaaaaay to long!
I thought Asbrook was horrible after what Clover did to them last week. Then tonight Clover barely beat Forestview and Ashbrook held with Crest. So is Ashbrook good? I thought Crest would dominate them. I heard 7 of the points were from special teams.
Ashbrook is a pain to prepare for - one week they play like crap and the next, they play good ball - especially when they play Crest. The only sure thing about the Green Wave is you don't want to bet the house either for or against them.
As a Red Raider, I hate Crest and Ashbrook. Wish they could both lose with negative numbers..

GDG, Crest very well could finish 3rd in SMAC this year. Offense is really struggling to find a rhythm. Running game is very sporadic and coaches are having trouble getting the ball to skill people on the edge. Defense is going to be solid before year is over but the Chargers have to figure out some way to move the ball on O. With an open week next friday and Draughn the next, this is the perfect opportunity to figure out the problems and develop a solution.
I said it last year and I'll say it again right here. That offensive line for Crest never got the credit it deserved for two years of pushing people around. All the skill in the world is nothing without the kids upfront. It changes completely the approach to what plays are instituted.
somebody called out coach Clark!!! No coach bashing!!! We don't talk bad about coaches around here! Only lack of talent and referee's!! Clark won a undefeated state championship! His resume is looking pretty good right now! And suddenly...Coach beam starts calling...
I'm shocked at how fast the level of support of some Crest fans seems to have fallen. Two games into a noticeable rebuilding year, and there's not enough cheering going on in the stands in direct support of the players, while many fans choose instead to shout at the coaches all night long like they are on their sofas at home watching the Panthers play. Yeah, I know, this is football, I'll just toughen up.
yeah I listen to the post game on 101.3 last night and really did not care for the way some of the guys talked about the Burns football being the ( in his words the fat sister no one wanted to claim ) Lack of class IMO and yes he is a crest supporter . Can they not find a more professional guy to host the show if not then just don t have one.

Totally agree. I stopped listening to the pregame couple years back ....it should be called the crust pregame show. Still like the postgame and enjoying listening to tom....i agree with oldschool 100 percent and when comments like dennis davis made last night its the players hes insulting .because sometimes they are listening .....totally inappropriate . Many many area schools would love to have a program like burns .

Agreed, I made a comment on another thread about this. I will not listen to another show again because of their unprofessional, bias talk. Tom does an OUTSTANDING job during the games of not being a bias prick like shelby and crest guys and he also does a wonderful job during the post game talking to those clowns. To be on the air and refer to a county school as a fat sister and give some sort of bogus analogy shows lack of class and actual football knowledge. Sorry Dennis you dont know actual sports knowledge and your only agenda is to glorify the ponies. Learn the sport and then come back on and give useful insight.
The head coach at Crest has coordinated one of the most prolific high school offenses that I have ever seen and the most dominating defense I have had the pleasure to watch in over 35 years of watching high school football. He knows what he is doing. Do NOT give up on him!
Agreed. Very poor choice of words. My girlfriend and I heard those comments just as we were leaving the game Friday. I wasn't quite sure they were talking about Burns but I was pretty sure. Very inappropriate remarks.
Crest will not be tested again until they play Kings Mountain on October 7. They should coast to wins over Draughn, Roberson, RS and Chase.

Y'all need to calm down. Crest will get it going and be just fine. Can't win every game by 45. I think the Chargers are gonna be fine, just give them some time to get their feet settled. Sometimes that takes 3-4 weeks.
