Well as a North fan my first question is why were the linemen engaging people 40 yards behind the play? Sounds like a football IQ issue and not a referee issue. My other question was aimed at what really mattered to the last head coach at North. Seemed like he talked more about air-raid numbers, books, stats etc instead of building on all facets of the game and winning.Where's your question? I counter with, did the refs' garbarge calls in the first half of the game set the tone? Answer is a resounding "yes"
If its 40 yards behind the play why were they even in that situation. sounds like either poor coaching or a lack of discipline. either way those kind of bone headed mistakes are what lose ball games. If you wanna win dont leave it in the refs handsFirst one was either a hold or block in back...40+ yards behind the action as 3 was running away (for clarification, did not rewind to see it, watching on NFHS). Second was a block in back also 40+ yards behind the action. NS lineman hit him square in the front part of shoulder, TD called back. Game should be one score right now as the 3rd ends...
Well if you want to bring up stats and bad mouth the previous coach....let's evaluate.Well as a North fan my first question is why were the linemen engaging people 40 yards behind the play? Nothing about the loss last night. Props to the West Stokes team. I have been around the program for years and I was speaking facts. He worried about his air-raid offense and the quarterback stats so he could write his books and give lectures all over the country. When the talented air raid quarterbacks dried up, he was gone. Once again, I know it is not popular to speak the truth in any kind of public setting but that is what I was doing. If you wasn't in and around that locker room the last 10 years then maybe you to to get more info before you evaluate. Best of luck to Jackson Smith, who is one of the finest young men I have ever been around since he was in elementary school, and the Greyhounds. You are right, nothing wrong with keeping up with stats but don't just do it for 1 position.Well if you want to bring up stats and bad mouth the previous coach....let's evaluate.
In two games NS has been beaten on an approximate average of 40-9. Maybe your current young and inexperienced coach should have asked the previous coach about his offensive style and his knowledge from his days a DC. Stats are definitely a part of the game. We shouldn't fault a coach for keeping up with stats. It is true that only one stat matters and that's the W-L. Currently, NS 0-2 and previous coach serving at WS as the OC is 2-0 averaging nearly 30 ppg.
NS made moves to hire the young coach they wanted and with a small sample size of two games it seems that they are getting what they paid for. Good luck to the new young coach, and good luck to the previous coach. Let's not throw stones just because NS took a beating with the help of their previous coach.
West Stokes will finish 4th in their conferenceCoach has talent and experience at skill positions at West Stokes. Will get a test this week playing East Surry.
