I think it will be a little closer than that. One of Huss’ best overall players got hurt late in the SP game. Not sure of his status for this game.
This game won't be close. Their 2nd round won't be close. They got a friendly draw this year.
I think HH could surprise WC and everyone else... unless they're ready for basketball season.
Hunter Huss had 1 of the fastest QBs I saw this year but team only has the depth to hang around for a half..WC 28-14
Talked his dad, said he's practiced yesterday and was fine. The db that went down in the second half of the ashbrook game will be back this week as well. Someone asked about 99 playing last week, he was brought up for the playoffs.
My thing this week is who's going to be more disciplined? Niether teams have a reputation of being a consistently disciplined team. If huss is still in this game late watch out, they had ashbrook dead to rights till under 2 to go in the 4th with 2 huge goal line stands. And still only 1 score behind sp till midway through the 4th last week. Soon or later that luck could change and them pull it out late.

I stated 99 but his number could have been #98. Whatever guy was playing against KM on the d-line. Those numbers be hard to read sometimes when them big boys shirts start rolling up lol
Is this game at West Charlotte or are they still using that school that got closed down?
I think Huss can go compete also. Huss needs to stay solid across the board, take away WC explosive plays, and capitalize on WC mistakes when they arise. Get the game to the 4th qtr with a chance to win.
At WC. WC has had some nice facilities upgrades.
Glad to see they finally played at home, when I went to watch them play KM and Cramer a few years back at Waddell (I think that was it) it was less than ideal playing conditions.
WC is the best coached team in Charlotte. I’ll take them by as many points as they want.

That’s an interesting comment about best coach. Prior to this season and before changing coaches, I believed Butler and Catholic were the best coached teams in Charlotte. As I think about the landscape of Charlotte public football, Coach Greiner may definitely be in the conversation for best coached team with all the coaching turnover in Meck Co. haven’t seen Palisades but I imagine those guys to be well coached with their rapid ascension in the county. I am going to defer to my Charlotte brethren on that question.
All true, I just see the passion in his eyes when he speaks about his kids. I’ve also seen another Charlotte coach try to get Mr. Greiner caught up in drama and he never bites. He stays his course, and worries about his kids.
Its possible he could be the best. WC has a great staff and some HC quality assistants over there. If they can keep that group together 3-4 more years with the talent level they are getting they will become the new clear Charlotte power team. The talent level is insane 2026-2029 coming to and at WC.
Think this WC team is a little different than the last 2 that lost in 3rd round. Watching the NM and Chambers games you could see a business like approach. Hard to explain but they were buttoned up and on point even in the little areas.
West Charlotte should make a run to the 4th round with their draw

Yeah it seems like he was the same way at Harding. I remember the story with the kid he and his wife took in. It’s great to have coaches like him making an impact in kids lives beyond the gridiron.
They got a great draw when they got put in 3a. Where they gonna be this upcoming realignment?
ADM’s were revised and West Charlotte will now be playing 8A next season. West Charlotte with a ADM of 2332 are playing teams in the 3A playoffs with half their enrollment. For context Hunter Huss adm is 1165. That’s a huge difference in 3A.

When the gap of enrollment widens that much anytime during the 4 year cycle maybe they should be pushed up..
WC has been well above 3A numbers the whole four years in 3A. They could have easily petitioned to play 4A due to the current configuration of their conference. The WC athletic administration thought 3A would be easier to win a state championship and chose to sit where they are. As soon as WC was placed in 3A their football and basketball coaches were predicting state titles.

I’d be embarrassed to try to run 3a as a 4a team. Especially after the news they are going to 8a….now let’s see what they can do against Weddington!
That's false false false. WC played 4A with 3A numbers for years and previously petitioned to play 4A with 3A enrollment. This last 4 years it just so happened there were more charlotte 3A schools than there has historically ever been so CMS kept them together as it was just a 4 year cycle.
WC enrollment was very low when conferences/class put together. What was not factored in or considered was the new school becoming very popular and POB/Harding losing so many students. WC became the defacto Westside school and has 3 IB feeder middle schools. This is great for the school/community.
Lastly WC went to the 4A state final in 06 and was a 4A basketball power playing in the 4A final in 19. Their basketball team beat another former 4A team for the 3A title. After that their basketball team hasn't even been competitive and no other sport besides football has been remotely competitive in 3A. So adm numbers can be deceiving when it comes to sports. Besides football don't think WC had ANY team in any sport with a winning/competitive record while in 3A.
