Two great programs, two great coaches, I think the loss of Roberts for WRH (one poster stated he got hurt Friday) could be difference as that dude is a man amongst boys. I still think dogs pull this one out.

First, havent heard anything about Roberts. Hope it is not too serious.

Well, here we go. Two teams that are mirror images of each other in what they like to do. I think ED has won 2 out of the last 3.

I think the Dogs have just a little more firepower this year and come away with a win. I do know that both teams probably match up better with one another than if they were playing teams that like to spread it out and throw it 25-30 times a game. I know we better not look past them like we did last year based on earlier results.

Personally, I look forward to this game moreso than the WRH/JK game each year. Its like watching Kansas and UNC play against each other in basketball and is always a chess match. Looking forward to it.

The Panthers could easily be 3-0 right now and in the driver's seat but instead they are 0-3. ED's had some injuries up front that has slowed progress some but honestly little things mean a lot and turnover's have told the story so far. ED fumbled on their first series against Midway and neither team punted the rest of the night so you could say that turnover had a big factor in that close loss because Midway could not stop ED's offense. I still think this will be a very good high school football game and I gotta go with the Panthers, these kids really need a win and i think they will get it.

Love East Duplin’s stadium and game day atmosphere. It’s a great environment for high school football!

Both teams are emotionally high for this game. The few I've talked to in Beulaville are confident. Think the dogs are prepared. Gonna be a barn burner.

Just a ton of respect for Coach Holley, staff and kids at ED. They may not be the most imposing or athletic bunch you might see, but they are and always have been a gritty, hard nosed bunch.

I know the Dogs need to be ready from the first whistle to the last. ED will be prepared for sure and won't quit.

I think it will be a good game.

i have seen both teams play 2 or 3 times this yr on nfhs. Neither team has peaked in my opinion. I don't quite see the fire power that my buddy 79 sees in my dogs. Ed may win the war of the trenches too. Hell, their homefield too. Im worried. Should b the same slobber knocker as usual. Either way.

I think both teams ceiling would have been higher if this had been a regular season. ED has played teams that are a combined 9-0 and has lost the three games by a total of 13 points. I think they would have been better served going into conference play with their usual non-conference schedule and could have been playing their best football late in October.

As for the Dogs, they have played two average teams and one of the best teams in the state for a 2-1 record. The non-conference schedule is always pretty stout and usually prepares well for conference play.

A loss for WRH would not kill their playoff hopes as ED is not in their division within the conference. Beat Goldsboro next week, and they would play Midway the following week in the tournament and a automatic spot in the state playoffs assuming Clinton handles ED next week.

I think WRH needs to play better this week than last week in the JK game.

Paid for the livestream and it wouldn’t play. I wasnt happy I ended up watching Clinton play Midway. That stream was fine. That offensive line for Clinton was nice. Couldn’t really tell much about Clinton because Midway was as bad as First Flight.

Wow. Sounds like it was a battle tonight in Duplin CO. I guess we will see how we fair next week.

WRH had a hard time stopping the running game for ED. I think they may have only thrown one pass the entire game but had positive yardage on almost every play. Jumped out 28-7 before the Dogs scored the last 16. Almost recovered onside kick with around 2:00 left but then couldnt stop ED on a 3rd and 5.

WRH is very lucky they were in grouping with Goldsboro and JK this year. I think ED would beat both if they were to play. To be honest, maybe Clinton, Midway and ED all finish ahead of WRH in a regular, regular season.

WRH will probably still make playoffs given the current set up this year but I think it will sadly be one and done. I think our inexperience is showing up this year. Just have to ride it out I guess and get back to normalcy, (kids in class, weightlifting, etc..).
