Boy oh boy we have an angry bulldog coming to Warsaw Friday night. Yeah that lost to East Duplin left a bad taste in their mouth, and what better way to get over losing to one little brother than to take it out on your other little brother, whom you have been bullying the last six seasons. I know the Bulldogs coaches and fans will be looking for 50 or more in this one just to save face. Well this little brother comes in riding a five game winning streak, and wants all the smoke. JK is playing really good right now, especially on defense, allowing an average of a td the 2nd half of games. If JK can eliminate the big plays in the 1st half, look for this to one to go the distance. JK has never lost 9 straight in this series and I think we put a end to it Friday night. JK sends the Bulldogs limping into the playoffs. JK 28-20

At JK, Tyler(defensive) was MLB on that 2013 state championship squad, and Randy(offensive) was the defensive coordinator on that 2013 championship team.

This team is nothing like the 17 team, that team at least had a decent defense. Offensively this team is up there but on the other side of the ball leaves alot to be desired.

That all depends on the strength of the teams in the conference. In years past when the ECC had SWO, WRH, Clinton & ED all together, even 4 teams could have been deserving of a playoff spot.

I understand, but I'm referring to years back before we had the split ( A & AA ) playoffs. I've seen times back then where 3-4 teams were deserving but only 2 or sometimes 3 were selected. I agree that the split playoffs were a crock of $&!€.

I know it doesn't work out this way, but I've always thought a team with a losing record shouldn't qualify. ie.. Springcreek. Etc

True that and that A AA playoff system had teams that may have only won 1-2 games. That is ridiculous.

The good thing about the split conferences though is that we had twice the championship games to watch. I haven't seen a schedule of how it will be done but we only have 4 championship games this year.

Dogs find a way this week. JK playing at a high level but I think Kanye has a big game and defense plays better. Need to get last week behind us and no better way than winning in Warsaw and heading into the playoffs.

Back when i played in 1967@1968 you had to win the conference to get in the playoffs and nobody else went.Mabey it still should be like that, but the state has to make all that money so they can hoard it or put it in their pockets.

Strick 68, I am an old timer like you, back in my senior football year in 1973 we had East Duplin's first winning season (7-2-1). Finished with a conference record of 6-1-1 (beat conference champion Roseboro-Salemburg, tied W-RH, lost to SL) and stayed home at playoff time. Only conference Champions went to playoffs. Roseboro met East Bladen (young Bob Lewis as coach) in first round and were tied at end of regulation. No overtime then and EB advanced on basis of having more total offensive yards. They advanced and actually played to a tie in that years 3A state championship game. So. imagine if that were still the case in 2017 when both ED (2AA) and WRH(2A) played in state championship games. Then the conference game between them in Sept won by ED 14- 12 would have kept WRH and Javonte Williams home . That is a harsh example as that year ED and WRH had excellent teams that both deserved to be in playoffs, but I agree that teams with losing conference records should not make playoffs- got to find happy medium. I kinda thought we would have moved to a 1A -5A classifications

JK can very easily win this game. I'm a bulldog but a realist. They have a great coach whose even a better person. He's assembled a good staff around him that can make in game adjustments. I think the Dogs will pull it out, but I feel it's going to be close. Like within a TD.

Hearing good things this week. I think the Dogs bounce back and play a complete game. Sometimes it takes a loss to get everyone refocused. Last state champ also lost to ED and we see how the season ended. Not saying same thing happens this year, but I see a deep run coming.
