Uwharrie Charter football

Looks like they play soccer at a "sportsplex" in Asheboro, and the picture in the story makes it look like you could play football there as well.

If I knew how to do those funny emojis things I would be doing one here.

More charter schools with football teams mean more chances for kids to pop off like a firework on the Fourth of July! More players, more talent yeah.....
Exactly, and in their case, less chance of being forced to combine with 2A in a playoff bracket

They reload…
Lottery and all 🙄
Much like wrestling…
They better keep that "lottery" going because the 1A cakewalk with kids from 4-5 counties is going to be needed to stay at the level they were at. No more 1A chest thumping and trophy hunting in 4A. Word is several 1A/2A charters down east are adding football in the coming seasons as well. Football makes money and that makes the budget better to handle.

I figured they would be sharing facilities with Eastern Randolph.
I think this idea makes a lot of sense. The closer the Privates are to the publics the easier it is to identify and recruit their best players.
Cuts cost of scouting, puts more money in the pocket of which ever NC Republican Politician has his/her hand in the private schools pocket.
Makes perfect sense!!

See..
Now everyone thinks it’s Amateur Night at the Apollo…
Geesh…
I blame @Sportsnut17!!’

Yo the trend of 1A and 2A charters in areas like down east adding football is such a significant development, feel me?

Welcome to 4A UCA. They have an excellent team but the traditional home grown kids did a good job this weekend taming that beast a bit and congrats to M Airy for the 1A state tourney title. As for them adding football and the goal of getting more big guys in the system. That idea works until you become a steady football playoff team and do not have those 150-285 pound dudes in the wrestling room until December or later if they choose to play football. Also, limits the wrestling coaches ability to complete steady workouts, club team and do tourneys due to spring football workouts and fall season. It really hurts good football schools that are steady in the state football playoffs year after year early on in the season.

There is a lot of misinformation in this post. The statement about the home-grown kids at MA is incorrect. Some of MA's best wrestlers are not from MA, they are transfers. The three winners MA had in the dual-team finals are examples. Most, if not all of MAs wrestlers do not play football or quit football at the beginning of wrestling season. So those kids are practicing all year. Please know the facts before posting.

Facts supported by Track Wrestling. The majority of the really good guys they have all wrestled at MA as 9th graders forward. Might be Some may have quit football and yes they wrestle year round attending clubs such as combat. I know for a "fact" that they did not get some of those guys back the last few seasons until football ended and they should not have been allowed to join wrestling or attend a workout until football ended if they quit football (IMO). As for transfers, I refer to Homegrown for those schools that do not have a 25 mile radius to get kids. Might be some from Surry, but if that is allowed by the schools so be it and no argument there. How many MA starters are from Yadkin, Guilford, Forsyth, Montgomery, Randolph, Davidson, Lee, Moore, Chatham?

The two state champs from this season did not wrestle there as 9th graders. The ones that quit football were still working out with wrestling even when football was still playing. They just did not wrestle in matches until the season ended. So I guess the 25 mile radius is the magic number. Out of district is out of district.

Since you seem to want everyone to believe you are so in the know, please provide the information, in detail, about who, when and where from. Thanks. I am sure we all will be waiting with baited breathe for your revelations.

My apologies for getting this post off track. Congrats to both MA and UCA for a state title and now back to the wonderful news of UCA starting a football team. Both are moving up and will chart their own destiny in both sports. Back to football!

Here is an example. The 175 attended and wrestled for ES during his freshman year. Maybe I know more than you think I do. Track wrestling will show that as well. Please prove me wrong about this kid.
