2021 NCHSAA Spring Football Playoff Projections

As the abbreviated spring season winds down for football teams across North Carolina, HighSchoolOT is projecting the state playoff brackets for each of the four classifications.

I put West Lincoln and Hendersonville in instead of Brevard and East Lincoln. Using last years ADM's if the projections are right this is what the west would look like I think.

I know the East boys are hoping and praying that Shelby does. Regrettably.... I heard a belly laugh from Cat Square all the way up to Burnsville.....regarding your statement.

Despite this team being a circus, and that it is, I agree. I like to see challenges. We will see you guys in the ship, and no excuses in advance, either way, unless Covid ravages a team.

I’m still optimistic Shelby will get it together. I do like what Clinton is doing out East, and I think they will have as many athletes as Reidsville. But, I am always going to go with the more balanced teams, offensively, that being the western teams. Heck, that’s if Clinton even goes 2A. Like Shelby, they always seem to be on the bubble to go either way.

Another scenario to keep an eye on...., RS Central vs Burns could be interesting, too. If RS beats Burns, and Chase beats South Point, there will be chaos. RS is a “bubble team”. Chase is definitely small 2A. It’s a shame teams that are sure fire playoff teams in normal seasons, won’t make it this season.

I really wish those teams from your conference would all make it. They should have done about 8 games and a normal playoffs. I don’t mind going out east it’s been a while since we were east. I wonder if any of those teams projected could challenge Shelby. The only way I’d want to go west is if Shelby or chase is west, otherwise I see no challenges in 2a west.

I will never concede a potential L to any 2A team. Whatever team will have to just show me! Reidsville, Hibriten, Clinton, whomever. And yes, South Point just did that. Fortunately, the all important season is still to be played.😉

No I don’t think the Burnsville boys are confident this season. That maybe the biggest challenge for Shelby and maybe walkertown, both are well coached

I hardly ever concede either. I think the last time I conceded was lincolnton in 2015. But you guys should still feel pretty good heading into the playoffs,for obvious reasons

It appears that Forbush and Walkertown will both be undefeated after conference play. I guess they’ll draw to see who gets the #1 seed from their conference.

Put South Granville in, bump Bartlett Yancey out (which bumps Clinton to small 2A).....also Beddingfield could be in, but I believe they will have to win a draw with SW Onslow, and maybe West Craven (if they can beat Greene Central)
