UNC vs Georgia

UNC had no shot the Big Ten ref crew thought that the Heels weren't supposed to beat Georgia in Georgia. Man that lineman downfield was brutal and it turned the entire game (heels up 24-21 mid 4th). I guess when the 12 is the line of scrimmage and you are blocking on the 14 its a penalty thanks for the replay. Heels get a first down pass that's backed up 5 yards then coach gets unsportsmanline for arguing the call then that's followed by a safety for Georgia. Everything changed. There was another review later that was 50/50 that was the heels call on the field that was ofcourse overturned. Bad if youre a heels fan.
I don't say it too often but I agree the calls were a bit too much for UNC to overcome. On both sides of the ball I must add. None were blatant but the last one in particular combined with the previous 4 or 5 left me fuming as a UNC fan.
UNC should have run the ball more Logan and Hood 10 yards a pop on average......Tribisky did not step up in this game.....Fedora said he was a better runner and faster than Marquise Williams huh????? Ran 40 pass plays and 19 runs??? Does not make much sense..
What is a lie??? I am actually agreeing with you he did not look good at all......Threw the ball 40 times and ran the ball 19 and actually had more yardage on the ground...

Tribisky is faster than Williams. Timers say so. Fedora wants him to stay in the pocket where Williams scrambled. Carolina needs better offensive line recruiting for that to happen. Upper tier teams land those linemen recruits and the backs get all the glory. I agree Hood should get more carries and that has been proven.

might be faster but not a better runner anyone can see that. he is not the game that williams is say what you want. he might become a game but he is not now.
Fedora has tried for the last two years to foster an environment for Tribisky to have the job but he just does not have that "it" factor that Williams had. Well he has the job now and you do not hear anything about the backup like you did when Williams was there??? They actually switched Anthony Ratliffe-Williams to WR which I think was a mistake that kid is a true Dual Threat and was faster than any QB on the roster.....but what is done is done Fed is sink or swim now with Tribisky...
Carolina is use to that Atlantic schedule. Wait till you see them in Tallahassee. lol
Yea I'm getting old. Senile! Thinking one thing and typing another is something I am getting good at. But's its good for Carolina to get a taste of playing at Tallahassee. Besides if they won they would even impress me!
Marquise didn't look that good last year vs usc in the first game. I want to see how mitch looks this week.
Illini is one different cat compare to SEC. The biggest thing about Tar Heels is run defense NEEDS TO improve big time or we will see run all year long! One reason why I don't like Fedora philosophy about having 70 plays or so....we score too quickly and do not give our defense time to rest on the sideline. I remember he saying that if we run so many offense plays ....we tired other team's defense out. I think it backfired on us last year because we score too quickly. I think I saw bunch of one and two minutes drive last year.....and got me thinking...no rest for defense?? Hmmm !
That ratio 40 passes and 19 run plays tell the story....UNC defense gotten wore out in 2nd half and give Ga extra time to run the plays. If we made incomplete passes, the clock stop and give extra plays to GA. What is he thinking??? (Fedora) Oh Well....I am just a fan and I like UNC and love Alabama (since Bear Bryant days) They eat up the clock and will score quickly if needed to be. All teams got flaws.... Fedora will never be a head coach for big time football.....UNC will be his "highest bar" he will go to in his career. IMO only!

Mac you are right about Fadora. This will be his best job. Now,let's look at current players at Carolina. Tribisky was Ohio player of year coming out of high school. Playing behind Williams should have helped him in so many ways. Only 1 game so far but looks like play calling will be limited this year.
Running backs Logan and Hood are fine good backs. Games will basically rest on their shoulders this year.
Defense is not so good vs run. I knew we would not be able to get to next level in getting 5 star players at Carolina now.
We are never going to compete for National championship in football at UNC.
Mack Brown controlled in state guys out of HS when he was coach. Best in state went to Carolina last 2 years he was there. He went 10-1 I think in 98 then left.
Dick Crum in 80s was great getting those great OL from Ohio,Penn. Virginia gave us great RBs and defensive players. He average about 8 or 9 wins a season then. If we can be a top 10 program each year will be very good for UNC. I would love to be in hunt for National Champ. each year but don't think it will happen folks. Maybe I'm wrong.

We should have kept Butch Davis he was a great coach. He did nothing wrong.

Power 5 conferences are looking weak this season. I guess the minor conferences have more experience this time around and maybe the Power 5 are playing younger inexprienced players.
Sad that Summers was the only kid of these 4 offered by UNC? The Samuels one was a real head scratcher and started the pipeline of Mallard Creek kids going to NC State..
