Not saying that not being able to attend a camp is politics.. but a kid that gets offers for being a repeat camper over a kid that is clearly better and was at the same camp as the kid who was offered IS politics.. I’ve seen on too many occasions.. I have also been around this recruiting thing for more than 20 plus years I know how things go!
Non of them were QB’s silly of you to compare!
Clearly better based on what? That's only your opinion. I've been on both sides. I've seen kids at camps like yourself, that I've thought were also better than kids that were offered. I've also taken kids to camps that i thought were not good enough to be offered and they were offered. You having a difference in opinion with a coach is not politics my friend.
Clearly better based on , accuracy , mechanics , footwork, football IQ...better period. If you have experienced it then you know... what you just described is somewhat political if guys are getting offers that weren’t worthy of them... why are they being offered if they didn’t deserve it.. maybe because you brought them in .. opposed to a parent bringing a kid in. Politics my guy... don’t act like it doesn’t exist.
Call it what you want... I know better.. some things are just obvious.. we can agree to disagree it’s cool...Not worthy or not deserving is not my call or your call. My opinion or your opinion of coaches recruiting being different in what we see is not politics. It's a just that. A difference in opinion.
A high school coach may bring 20 kids to camp... that coach may know who to talk to , to keep eyes on those kids, while a kid who’s parents brought him in may not get the time of day.. strictly because that coach there in a word or two about the kids he brought!...Kids get overlooked many times because of many reasons other than their actual talent!
Non of them were QB’s silly of you to compare!
We are talking QB’s .. I’m just replying to the film you posted.. Kingsley was a good QB, but he was overrated as well! You blitz QB’s who can’t read defenses and that’s what happened. Forcing him to make horrible decisions!... That’s on him. Page was tough don’t get me wrong but 4 pics will get you a loss against any decent team. A Sr. has to play better than that. Coaching definitely played a huge part in that game tho so I can’t put it all on Kingsley...Especially when they drove the ball right down Pages’ throat on the 1st drive. The running game should have been used much more .. early in the game!!...I hope he can get it right and see the field at ECU!... I’m definitely rooting for the kid. Him and his brother are great kids!Lol u act like page is hoke cty, or garinger. Page was a score away from state last yr. Vance lost the last 2 yrs in the regional finals...last yr by 6 and 2 yrs ago(blow out loss so it doesn't matter). So u mean 2 tell me nigel summerville was a better qb then Kingsley at the time? Nigel is a great kid with great talent but he will tell u king was better at that time. Football is a team sport so all this "he isnt good unless he wins rings" argument gets old after a while. Dont 4get the defense has to eat 2...along with great coaching on the opposite team. Charlotte catholic has a great resume for wins so losing to them in a close game isnt something 2 b ashamed of. And Kingsley not progressing has 2 do with him getting better..I wish him the best n hope he n his coaches work n achieve that.
Oh so the 4.4 will get you noticed... not if you can actually play the game... ohhhh ok I gotchaThe process has changed. Coaches are getting kids in camps they want to look at. They know what kids are coming. They also film all camps to ensure they notice all the kids that attend. A kid that runs a 4.4 at camp that was brought by his Mother, wiil get noticed as Quick as the kid who was brought by his coach with 20 players. No politics!
Oh so the 4.4 will get you noticed... not if you can actually play the game... ohhhh ok I gotcha
We’re actualky talking about children. Remember that, too.
You are confirming it for me ... I appreciate you! There are lot's of pieces that get you noticed and yes a kid running a 4.4 will get a recruiters attention, "NOT IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME"? Those are your words, not mine. You have made numerous examples of how you allegedly believe recruiting is political. Not one is valid or confirms what you're saying has any validation.
You are confirming it for me ... I appreciate you!
Those are your opinions and you are welcomed 2 that but u r contradicting urself by first saying winning state championships is a sign of greatness then confirming that u DONT need state championships 2 prove ur great. King is a victim of why most HS kids need 2 redshirt because u cant jus live off of natural talent when u get the the next level. And im not going 2 make any excuses for the page game...they simply whooped our butts. Got out coached, out played, out worked. The point is....Sam is a baller...for sun valley's scheme and how they play hes one of the best in the country. Now talking about mechanics and wind up..release..etc, etc...if hes coachable that will change...but the kid has the game 2 play on the next level...depends on how good taggarts coaching staff is.We are talking QB’s .. What is the story on Crouch? Is he staying at Harding? Is he following Greiner to Hickory Ridge? Is he 19 years old and aged out? These are all questions that no one seems to have the answers.

The top picture are children. The bottom are young men. There's a difference.
They’re still children, man. If you’re so into this game, at this level, you better know that they’re still kids. The issue on here is that people are hypercritical at times about these kids, but hide behind screens. I’m not speaking to anyone in particular, but just be mindful that these kids read these posts, and are still very impressionable.
I understand what you're saying, but i definitely don't see a lot of people hiding behind a screen name? Ms. King is pretty good at stepping in, when necessary .I also believe that we as a society hold these kids hands for to long. Football is a tough sports, both physically and mentally. These kids are tough, and can handle a lot more than what some homer fan is saying about them on football thread. Are you really doing justice to a young man, if you're sugar coating reality when they're a year or two removed from playing at the next level. I can assure you when they arrive to college, no one is going to be treating them like children. Just my opinion.
Defitniely agree. But as in coaching, teaching, and parenting, there needs to be a balance. That’s all I’m saying. Continually pointing out the negative without any positive reinforcement is going to do more harm than good.
3000 yards a game with probably 30 to 40 pass attempts per game playing in a mediocre conference. have they ever made the playoffs? - Howell
versus
1700 yards a game with maybe 15 passing attempts only 3 interceptions finishing 2nd in sac 8 which includes Scotland, Richmond, Pinecrest, Jack Britt - 2 and 3rd playoffs since 9th grade - Davis
looks like Hype versus hard work to me.

compared to cape fear, Scotland, Richmond, pinecrest, jack britt?
LOLSaw him and Kyler Davis of 71st in same group at UA. I wasn't impressed with Howell. Davis was bigger and faster. Both have great arms. It was obvious who they favored but pound for pound he's not better than Davis. According to 247 Howell is 1 and Davis is 3 qb in NC. I'd be curious to see how Howell would look playing in the SAC 8.
