I am by no means hating on a kid and I think its great hes achieving all he can......but is Sam Howell a legit prospect or is the class of 2019 down a little bit in the QB category?? He doesn't blow me away with his ability like a Trevor Lawerence or JT Daniels
All of these talents play against competition that they’re leaps-and-bounds better than. For Fla. St and Bama to want you, you can’t be a scrub. None have played a down of college ball yet, so it’s hard to say. Once they’re all in college, I think we can all gauge whether they’re they hype that surrounds them. Until then, it’s a guessing game, IMO.
Saw him and Kyler Davis of 71st in same group at UA. I wasn't impressed with Howell. Davis was bigger and faster. Both have great arms. It was obvious who they favored but pound for pound he's not better than Davis. According to 247 Howell is 1 and Davis is 3 qb in NC. I'd be curious to see how Howell would look playing in the SAC 8.
sun valley has 1 game which is against Charlotte Catholic. After that cupcakes. Easy to be a star against that.
Kyler Davis is Def my favorite QB in NC. Only kid that I've seen film on take the punishment of a blitz and deliver great footballs. There is a reason why Hough's QB had to transfer there and not stay at 71st, because he wouldnt have seen the field EVER if he stayed at 71st.

I think he's the most slept on. Clearly stood out at UA...you could see he's been in the weight room. All conference as punter. The secret is he's the best safety in the conference and hasn't played. Heard one coach say if he lines up at safety our offense is done because once he hits someone it's over.
Imma have to stop you at all conference punter.........Ive seen his punts and there were def yards tacked on at the end and sometimes even the 15 yds from where he kicked it and not where the LOS was hahaha......but punting statistics are pretty bad every where in NC to be honest.
I would imagine the only 2 people on the planet that would pick Kyler Davis over Sam Howell. That would be his mother or his Girlfriend if he has one? If you're using 24/7? Howell is also the # 4 Pro Style QB in the Nation with some serious wheels. No disrespect to Davis, but he's not in the same stratosphere. He has zero offers, while Howell was offered by the entire Top 30 schools in the nation. Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia, Tenn, Florida, Michigan, Oregon, and Miami. Just to name a few. I doubt very seriously if all of them got it wrong?

Wil Grier played against less talent than Sam Howell at Davidson Day. He's one of the leading candidates for the Heisman this year. If you watch enough film, you can tell a kids ability know matter who they're playing against.

Kyler Davis is a stud. Great athlete and may just turn out to be one helluva a QB. The 71st schedule isn't much tougher than Sun Valley and in the end it doesn't matter that much. Howell is monster. On the same level as Grier in HS, maybe a touch better physically. You don't have to be Nick Saban or Willie Taggert to see that and it doesn't make Kyler Davis any less of a player.
Judging how a kid is vs 7v7(shorts and no pass rush) and a combine(shorts). Sam's been a 4 yr starter I think. Man u cant judge what a kid does in hs vs the sec or the big 10. Let's go n look who's the best players in the nfl... Brady...wasnt highly ranked in college, JJ watt played TE in hs, Khalil mack only had one offer n he played MLB in hs, aaron Donald was 3 star I think he he was deemed undersized so they wasnt looking for him 2 do anything, Carson wentz wasnt even ranked, aaron Rodgers went 2 juco then cal. My point is none of these kids may become NCAA stars so let's look who will possibly do more for their team the Fall of 2018....I'll put my money on sammy h....kid is a 4yr starter in the same system...Sam is a baller point blank.
How do you become overrated throwing for 3400 yds passing & 1400yds rushing and 60 total TD's? Please explain in your eyes, what else could he have done, to become rated? Sun Valley's a 500 ball club without him. With him they have the potential of winning a State Championship.

How many State Championship has he won being a 4 year starter??....Stats don’t necessarily mean they will dominate in college!...Sarrat was way too much for high school.. dominated easily...but how has that transitioned to college! Not good so far... can’t even take a college level hit right now! There was QB at Vance a couple years ago ... Big numbers throwing and rushing... When that Big game pressure hitm he was done!...I watch everything from throwing mechanics to presnap and post snap reads, decision making, and everything else involved with being a complete QB..Again I’m not impressed!..With his BIG wind up throwing motion he’ll have to worry about strip sacks often...and please don’t talk about who’s offered the kid.., we all know the politics that are involved in that. Like I said the kid is decent. He’s definitely doesn’t blow me away the way he does some of you. We’ll see if he can win it this year.. It didn’t happen last year!
Coaches are paid millions for recruiting talent. Of course some of them get it wrong. They also get fired with a quickness for recruiting duds. Please explain the politics? I've been involved and around recruiting process for over 20 years. POLITICS? I only here that from kids and parents who don't get the offer they want. Never said anything about how he would turn out in college. I'm talking about what he doing now. So yes we will talk about who offered him, and i'm going with the OC's who do it for a living of the Power 5 schools. If you do it on the field with measurable's and grades, the politics will be numerous offers.

Fyi the reason (Kingsley) folded as u say under pressure wasnt because he choked or didn't show up in big games wasnt his fault it was the defenses fault. When u give up 38, 49, 40+ 3 games in a row in the playoffs is ur defenses fault not the offense. Tbh if it wasnt for him we lost the west meck, mallard creek, Myers park, and butler games, that's y we fired that def coordinator n hired Aldridge. The reason why King is having issues on the college level because he said it himself...I can't rely on talent because on this level every1 is good so I have 2 get better in other ways. He'll admit he wasnt as dialed in last yr at ECU so I should expect him 2 step his game up now that Holton is there 2 push him for that starting spot. I cant convince u how good Sam is...all I say is watch his hudl....it says it all.

I still haven’t seen where You posted how many State titles this Big time recruit has...everyone knows that politics are involved in everything when it comes to recruiting.. If you aren’t spending money going to camp after camp or know someone who knows someone, you just might not get what you deserve. If a kid is fortunate enough to have the means to be seen at multiple venues he will definitely get that shot before a kid whos only able to attend a couple combines or local camps. I’ll say this... if the kid is that good he should Absolutely have a couple rings playing 3A ball.. we will see what h does this year.....oh I forgot he the best so no doubt he’ll run through the competition and win a title!

NO! I don't have all the answers, we just disagree with Howells's ability. A kid not able to attend camp is not politics. That just means he's not going to get the exposure of kid who's able to attend more camps. Nothing political about that. You can't get a job if you don't go to the interview. I also don't believe him winning a State Championship legitimizes his ability. Without him, they're not even in the conversation.
Nepsy if he’s as good as you say then he only needs 1 or 2 guys to catch the ball.. he has rushing ability... or was his O line weak!....You tell me..I’ve been watching him the past 3 years and I’m not impressed I’ll say it again!... I’ve seen him do things that won’t let me rank him where you have him ranked.
Not saying that not being able to attend a camp is politics.. but a kid that gets offers for being a repeat camper over a kid that is clearly better and was at the same camp as the kid who was offered IS politics.. I’ve seen on too many occasions.. I have also been around this recruiting thing for more than 20 plus years I know how things go!
The list of big time recruits that havent won a state title runs into the thousands. DJ Humphries was the best OT in the country and a first rd draft choice. Never one a title. Elijah Hood, Marquez North, Zamir White etx, etc. Way too many variables to mention in one post. Silly arguement
