TJA (11-1) @ Elkin (10-2)

It's obvious that we just aren't going to see eye to eye on TJ or the politics of charter schools...So maybe let's just talk actual football...TJ plays in the conference, in the classification that the NCHSAA has put them in...And that is that...

It's not that it is that. It's not right. My kids went to a charter school and charters and private schools have an unfair advantages period. The NCHSAA is wrong on this. Put them in a separate classification come playoff time. It's not a hard fix.

Charters will fight that. They know they have an advantage, they like their advantage, and they will fight to the end to keep their advantage. Denying the advantage all the way.
Terrible example for both Charter and Public school kids.

This isn't true LOL...One, most of the proposals you suggest would negatively effect a lot of charter schools like TJ...Proving you really only care about your precious Robbinsville/Poor little "traditional" 1A schools. Two, it's only a advantage perceived by y'all because you spend so much time telling yourselves that these Public Charter schools "must" cheat the lottery, they must recruit, they must do this or that, how else could they dare to be good in ANY sport and in any way shape or form possibly threaten us poor little ol traditional schools...

The fact is y'all are just some pathetic fans...that will even attack some of your own like Mountie because he doesn't join y'all in crying that (all) Charter schools must be bad, they must cheat, they must have an unfair advantage...

The fact that the sites admin just let's y'all moan and moan year after year about Charter schools on this site, and about politics, and things indirectly related to actual play on the field which this site is actually supposed to be about, is ridiculous.

If you have a problem, email/mail your state representatives...Cry to them that Charter schools are cheating and must have an unfair advantage because y'all say they are...And see what happens because complaining on here certainly isn't going to do crap...While y'all continue to enjoy success in the 1A state playoffs because the reality is Charter Schools like TJ that follow the rules set forth, don't recruit, and aren't trying to rapidly grow, generally don't have the same level of talent as even your schools, they generally don't have the level of talent in the trenches as the SMC teams...and likely will rarely, if ever, be able to match the O-line/D-Line play that you SMC schools/Mountain schools are accoustomed to, which is generally king in 1A/1AA football.

So instead take a moment to consider what would happen to a team like TJ if they were forced into 2A as I've seen suggested...And the reality of that would be that they would likely struggle to be competitive for a number of reasons...

And a sperate conferences/playoffs for just Charter Schools could/would likely create long travel times...Hours of travel...especially come playoff time...But of course y'all likely don't care about that either...

Where did I make a suggestion?

See folks. He just said charters dont have an advantage and even suggested that public schools have the advantage. He also makes it clear he doesn't want to play on an equal playing field because of the drive. Folks you cant make this stuff up.

If charters didn't have an advantage why have other states made changes to fix the obvious advantage.

I think TJ line is the same as last year for the most part. If so they aren't that good. Big yes.

The long travel times are already there in 1A.

If anything it would probably help charters since a good majority of them are situated in metro areas like Charlotte and Raleigh...

Which brings up the issue of yes it is an advantage when you pull from a meteo area of millions of people instead of a small town of 4000 people. Hence why charters have taken over the country club sports. A school in Charlotte or Raleigh shouldn't be playing with a school in Boonville or Walnut Cove...

Only 1 state title at wrestling because a charter beat us last year. Avery or Swain will probably be beat by a charter this year at wrestling. Its not fair to those kids or worked for years to achieve a state title. Then a All Star team beats them. A 3rd year school beats them.

Who in their right mind would try and use an unfair advantage to build a wrestling program? I love wrestling, but it is not a money maker. I could understand football, because football funds pretty much all other sports, but wrestling? C'mon.
Carry on with you love affair with charters.
I have no love affair with charters, I'm just really tired of your same old boring rhetoric.

So you think a new school just by chances had more state ranked wrestlers than rosewood and Robbinsville two years ago?
Wow.
