Figured I would post a new thread since the other one is getting loaded down with new comment. Here are my predictions for the week:
Fairmont at South Brunswick
Fairmont has started off their season 0-3, and that has been very disappointing considering that they were chosen to win the Three Rivers Conference. The Tornadoes, however, have played good competition, and the teams that they have played have a combined record of 7-2 against schools with larger numbers. Josh Carter and South Brunswick's running game will present problems for a young Tornado front, but Julius Caulder and company will get back on track on offense this week, outscore the Cougars, and earn their first victory in Southport.
Fairmont 40 South Brunswick 12
Aynor at West Columbus
West Columbus has not won a game, but that is not surprising. They are very young as well, and are still adjusting to the coaching change that took place. Coach Lamb called our offense for years and I believe that our kids were accustomed to it, but both offensive and defensive schemes have changed. Our kids simply do not get taught the fundamentals of football as kids, and it hurts us every year. We will eventually get back on track, not this year. Nothing will change this week.
Aynor 48 West Columbus 12
Jones Senior at East Columbus
This may be a battle of the two worst teams in our region, but I will go with a team that has much more tradition of being successful.
Jones Senior 28 East Columbus 12
Lake View at South Robeson
Things will not get any easier this week for the Mustangs as they played a very talented and experienced Wild Gator team.
Lake View 50 South Robeson 6
Please share your thoughts. This is always fun to do every week.
