Guys, I use to be a fan of PSHS football, but since they fired the best coach the school ever had I will switch to being a Golden Tornado or anyone playing against Purnell.

Hope you find peace brother. Not completely aware of your situation at PSHS but sounds like a huge libreto. Who was the coach and what state of affair did it turn into?
Mark Heil was the best coach at Purnell. It was a disciplinarian that got the best out of the talent he had hear in and year out. He was the coach of many of the dads of the players he has now, the same ones that buried a knife into his back. But they will all get what they deserve. 11! 11 loses this year and maybe 2 wins next year. The coach they have now will bounce in 2 years, 3 tops.
He was a OC at Douglas Byrd last year that average scoring maybe 5 points a game. PSHS thought they would get a splash hire since they are in the toughest conference in the state. They soon learned that was no so. The ram faithful wanted the coordinator from Dillon but he wanted to much money. They were just like the board, frantic in a hire they hired a unproven guy to be a head coach. He will use this to build his resume to go somewhere possibly back to Fayetteville to be a HC. this year is he fluke year, every coach is given that in his fist year. Next year will be his break out year, if he has a good year next year he is gone. The 3rd year he will finish 2nd in the conference and most def will be gone.

herd, has done a good job explaining what happened. Heil did a great job there at Swett, but I think several got tired of him and were ready for a change. The problem with change is that you need to have someone in mind to takeover that is better than what you had. Heil will do a good job at Fairmont because of the athletes he has there.
Agreed! They had someone in mind but apparently that someone didn't have swett on there mind. Remember when they fired stone they already contacted Heil. But the main one they wanted was not leaving Florida or the second one was not leaving Scotland. They had the best bite from Dillon but couldn't loosen the purse strings. So that is why you have what you have!

Truly it's not. You have to have the right mentality to coach there. The kids there and in the majority of rob co need the same type of coach. Our kids, a lot anyway grow up in no dad homes, only father figure is a coach. A lot don't have discipline driving home in there lives.
Heil was a lot of the kids person to get the discipline from. You can't come in and try to be a buddy buddy and want to win. Stone was a great offensive minded coach but he had no discipline. The current coach there now is not big on discipline (according to my buddies who have kids that attend DB)
I will also tell you this, if kids had to go to schools that they live in and not jump county lines a lot of your big talent from maxton would not go to Scotland. A lot of your bball players wouldn't go to red springs. They would be at PSHS. but since Heil was rumored has to be a racist by a buisness owner in maxton and wouldn't let kids play that didn't make a effort in class or attend practices the parents pulled there kids away from football.

Robeson county has very good athlets,fine hard working peope. PS has a tough schedule every year. I hope success there. U have to have disipline or things will fall apart.

herd, I agree with you on discipline piece in Robeson county schools. Fairmont has been undisciplined over the years and it has caused good coaches to leave (it's hard to deal with if you don't lay down the law). I think some don't want to deal with it. I think Heil will be a good fit and the results will show up in the win/loss column.
You seem to be very familiar with that coach Monk. Met him?
Scrolling through the site I happen to find a couple of your threads herd. So tell me, Booster Club, Fans, fan, Outside sources; Any new reinforced support groups out there. Your threads gives off the vibes that is missing.
Here is what I will tell you about support, look up the head coaches website for the pub schools of rob co. It will say refer to gridironrams.com the site has not been updated for over a year. The coaches website still says coach: TBA.
