just got home from a great Jv game, ended in a 6-6 tie. Thoughts on varsity game???
We'd only agree to the Cushwa dog tiebreaker if Warren King can suit up for the home team.Tie?? They should've just decided it by seeing which team could eat the most Cushwa Dogs.
How did it end in a tie? That's crazy. Rained out or they didn't want OT?
Yeah, time to find something else to do on friday nights.Well it's official,Thomasville football has sunk to an all time low!!!
Hello Chute , hope all is well with you.... I you get loose from the wheatmore-T'ville game , come on over and catch the second half of what could be a dandy , Randleman and HPCA.
Take care my friend and the door is always open for you.........
And then what?
First apologize the Keith, Allen, and Roger. Second, get a coach that at least has a winning record. And then what?
Don't disagree with your first statement. But the two people who need to do the apologizing are long gone. The folks who are left, for the most part, are just trying to clean up after the train wreck. Amazing how three years can set us back forty. And I'm not just talking athletics.First apologize the Keith, Allen, and Roger. Second, get a coach that at least has a winning record.
Actually in non- conference games both teams must agree to play overtime. Most non-conference games, especially at the JV level do not play overtime. Home team predetermines that before the game starts.
I have a strong feeling that this is gonna be the norm for Thomasville football, with a flare up of a "decent" team every now and then...we are light years away from even competing for a state championship...sure didn't take long for it all to fall apart what was built by former players and coaches,it's really sad to see and painful to watch this,E.Davidson beat Whearmore 35-13,and we only could put up 6 points against them,i think even W.Davidson has a really good shot at beating us after what i witnessed last night.
Coach Mattera left to return to Edenton as athletic director. Good guy.TVILLEDAWG2370, what ever happened with Coach Wes Mattera? I know he was only at Thomasville for one year and then left. I watched Wes teams play when he coached at Edenton and they were successful running the spread offense. His first year with Edenton he was 3-8 and then every year after that won 10 games or more going to the second/third round of the state playoffs.
Your guess is as good as mine, I'm the greatest bleacher coach of all time lol- we have the athletes and from little league to jv they are mostly taught I formation. Last year coming off a 2-9 spread offense year , our current coach ran the I and we won conference 5-0 went to second round, this year ,, went back to spread- confusing ? Getting the ball to the playmaker is not happening , confusing and frustrating. #16- QB , #20-fullback, #31-tailbackThat being said, I didn't understand how our jv kept running the same full back play over and over...... then on friday we did the same thing but y'alls coaches didn't make any adjustments..... Do you have any insight dog86
Your are correct , dawg. This may sound biased but our next full slate of major athletes are coming, currently the 4-6 grade group is chalked full. My son is in there. Multiple sport superstars. About 80% of this group are playing multiple summer and travel baseball, basketball, and football leagues. Something our kids have never had the opportunity to do til now - could be a game changer for us, IMO Thomasville athletics has not diminished , just everyone else around us got betterif I remember correctly we were in the I formation last year,we had way more success than what we're doing this year
Well the JV team tied Wheatmore if you call that good. And if the varsity is not that far then hopefully it will be turned around the next few games. I could be wrong but I am just talking about my perception of just general talk around town about what the current staff and school board thinks of the Browns. It's all hidden though, you know how you act like you like someone in public but then it is different in secret. Whatever though, I quit going to the games when he left so I no longer have a dog in this fightJust my opinion. But, I am quite sure the current and any future staff appreciate all that the Brown family did for THS football. Give the current staffers time and see what happens. The JV team is looking good and the Varsity is not that far from being a real good team.
I'm the greatest bleacher coach of all time lol-
