just got home from a great Jv game, ended in a 6-6 tie. Thoughts on varsity game???

Thomasville will win by a lot if they play good or win by a little if they play bad. Either way thomasville gets the win.

Hello Chute , hope all is well with you.... I you get loose from the wheatmore-T'ville game , come on over and catch the second half of what could be a dandy , Randleman and HPCA.

Take care my friend and the door is always open for you.........

If we don't come out and play hard disaplinded football tonight,it will be very interesting...I'm hoping they will

Tville by 20

Well, I have accepted after tonight that we won't win another game in the "spread offense" that we attempted 2 years ago and went 2-9. Tvilledawg, I'm plumb embarrassed. It's not the kids fault, this is one of the most athletic teams we have had in years. Lots of true fans leaving in disgust tonight, this could be an issue. Just gonna hope that coach goes back to power I , like the offense that won conference champs last year. Also, we are playing the wrong quarterback, give the ball to #31

Thank you, Maddox. I'm going to try to get down there sometime. Congrats on the nice win tonight.

First apologize the Keith, Allen, and Roger. Second, get a coach that at least has a winning record.
Don't disagree with your first statement. But the two people who need to do the apologizing are long gone. The folks who are left, for the most part, are just trying to clean up after the train wreck. Amazing how three years can set us back forty. And I'm not just talking athletics.

I have a strong feeling that this is gonna be the norm for Thomasville football, with a flare up of a "decent" team every now and then...we are light years away from even competing for a state championship...sure didn't take long for it all to fall apart what was built by former players and coaches,it's really sad to see and painful to watch this,E.Davidson beat Whearmore 35-13,and we only could put up 6 points against them,i think even W.Davidson has a really good shot at beating us after what i witnessed last night.

Thomasville did not want to play overtime against the warriors. Otherwise it would have been an L for Thomasville.

That being said, I didn't understand how our jv kept running the same full back play over and over...... then on friday we did the same thing but y'alls coaches didn't make any adjustments..... Do you have any insight dog86

TVILLEDAWG2370, what ever happened with Coach Wes Mattera? I know he was only at Thomasville for one year and then left. I watched Wes teams play when he coached at Edenton and they were successful running the spread offense. His first year with Edenton he was 3-8 and then every year after that won 10 games or more going to the second/third round of the state playoffs.

Coach mattera left after his first season,I just don't believe running any kind of spread offense is going to work at Thomasville, coaching at Thomasville is a totally different animal than coaching at Edenton Holmes ..I just think mediocrity is just ok here now,Our coaches do nothing on the sideline during games any more are far as teaching and instructing and making in game adjustments the players just come and sit/stand on the sideline and that's it, Allen brown was second to none in making those in game adjustments,I've seen it way to many times...no pride at all

Coach Mattera left to return to Edenton as athletic director. Good guy.

I seen Thomasville scrimmage and I have to admit I found it odd they ran two different offenses on JV and varsity. JV they were solid in the I when I seen them and ran it mostly while they did the spread on varsity. I've been around spread offenses a plenty in my days but I have never seen a program who ran spread on varsity do a totally different offense on JV. It's a major double negative and not prepping the younger kids. Even North Stokes and North Wilkes when they did the spread ran it on JV.

Is Thomasville still struggling to pass it? They ran it okay out of the spread but they couldn't pass much. What were they in last year, the I?

if I remember correctly we were in the I formation last year,we had way more success than what we're doing this year, don't understand for the life of me with us struggling like we are to not go back to it,it's so plain to see its not going to work, maybe he's just to stubborn to change? I don't know but it's difficult to watch that's for sure

Your guess is as good as mine, I'm the greatest bleacher coach of all time lol- we have the athletes and from little league to jv they are mostly taught I formation. Last year coming off a 2-9 spread offense year , our current coach ran the I and we won conference 5-0 went to second round, this year ,, went back to spread- confusing ? Getting the ball to the playmaker is not happening , confusing and frustrating. #16- QB , #20-fullback, #31-tailback

Your are correct , dawg. This may sound biased but our next full slate of major athletes are coming, currently the 4-6 grade group is chalked full. My son is in there. Multiple sport superstars. About 80% of this group are playing multiple summer and travel baseball, basketball, and football leagues. Something our kids have never had the opportunity to do til now - could be a game changer for us, IMO Thomasville athletics has not diminished , just everyone else around us got better

OC I sure don't want to start controversy but I am not sure all who did Brown and Tobin wrong are gone like you say. I am hearing that there are still some on the school board and on the coaching staff that did not care for them. And honestly you can tell just by the buzz you here and the atmosphere at the games. I am not trying to bring them back I just think they ought to be appreciated a little more. And it is obvious what has happened since they left. I always said when you take Roger Bryant and Allen Brown away the program will drop tremendously and I think we all see that. Yes the last couple years Allen was there was shaky that is also when he was losing support and feeling the pressure to move on.

Just my opinion. But, I am quite sure the current and any future staff appreciate all that the Brown family did for THS football. Give the current staffers time and see what happens. The JV team is looking good and the Varsity is not that far from being a real good team.

Well the JV team tied Wheatmore if you call that good. And if the varsity is not that far then hopefully it will be turned around the next few games. I could be wrong but I am just talking about my perception of just general talk around town about what the current staff and school board thinks of the Browns. It's all hidden though, you know how you act like you like someone in public but then it is different in secret. Whatever though, I quit going to the games when he left so I no longer have a dog in this fight

THE VARSITY ISNT THAT FAR FROM BEING A REAL GOOD TEAM???? Have you been to the games lately? If you have then your blind to even fathom the thought of us even being an A REALLY GOOD TEAM!! If that's your definition of a really good team then I'd sure hate to see what you call a bad team then

lol Dawg- I'm keeping the faith and praying for a turn a round this week - last our non conference record has been pretty much the same for the last 6/7 years 1-5,2-4,3-3, then we light up in conference play- however Lexington and east seem to be gaining momentum- come on back to the games hog eye we need the support - atleast for a cushwa dog.
