Two old rivals facing off to open the season. I was just thinking the kids playing in this game have only heard about the great rivalry between these 2 teams only a few short years ago. I have been watching HS football for many years and the games especially in the early 2000's were some of the best football games I have ever seen. We didn't like each other but both teams had great respect for each other. Both programs have come upon hard times so I don't expect this game to a classic. But on the other hand it just might be. Go BLUE Dogs.

Boy this game has me SMH. I have no idea what to expect from Albemarle and for sure don't know what to expect from Thomasville. Think our defense is probably behind our offense as our coach said we better score a lot of points. New coach hired at the last minute, totally new offense and short on numbers. Man this could be a train wreck for us. However I will said this . The kids and coach have working long and hard at practice trying to mold this group into a team. It would not surprise me if we are really good or really bad. I really don't know.

Saw in the Thomasville paper that they had about 36 out for the varsity. It also said that they return their starting quarterback and a couple of tailbacks as well as some lineman. Albemarle lost a lot to graduation as well as their coaching staff. With a new offense and defense to learn it might too much to overcome against Thomasville. We still have a lot of unanswered questions about this team. We should know more about this team after their scrimmage.

I hear that Thomasville is bigger and Faster. Last Year may have been the rebuilding year at Thomasville but then They have to learn the system of another Coach. When does West Montgomery play Thomasville?

3rd game. Anyway looking forward to next week. Non of the Players have played against each other. I hope that the stands are full like it was in Conference play

I think this will be a tight game but going with my gut on this. A 21 tville 17. May change after tomorrow once I see the scrimmage, I think it will be a great game to watch either way.

Yeah I agree nation. Todays scrimmage against Latin should give us a better picture of where we stand. I'm sure coach Smith has some idea of where we stand but I sure don't. Since practice began on Aug 1 we have gone back to teaching the kids basic football fundementals. Something we had gotten away from the last several years. Most of this time has also been teaching the kids our offense. I have seen very little practice on defense. But since most of our players are going both ways I guess that is the reason. Latin could really light our defense up today. Would not surprise me. I just hope we can move the ball with this new offense. Think the kids have taken to it pretty well and really like it. Now we just have to apply it in real game situations. Have seen very little work on special teams but we want need them in todays scrimmage but will next week in our home opener.
We are just trying to cram an awful lot into the few weeks we have been practicing.
Today. Today at 6 could answer a lot of questions.

I went to the scrimmage game at tville yesterday, the offense looked really good, the running backs are fast and run really hard like their mad at the grass,I really like this QB he's tall, really athletic and what really caught my eye is his awareness,he's always looking down field holding the ball high no matter how much pressure he's under, and he's a really good runner to,I think he's gonna be making a lot of plays out there this year, defense gave up some plays at times, need to work on that,to me they look like a totally different team from last year, and I really like this schedule they have this year,we lost so many close games last year with untimely turnovers and penalties, hopefully we can turn this thing around this year, the potential is there to do some really good things.

Teams that were at the scrimmage were S.Stanely,Jordan Matthews,RJ Reynolds and Thomasville
