Right. Knowing the coaches the way I do they’ll be prepared and ready!
Tarboro should win especially if they jump on em early and get up a couple scores but Pender is a team playing with a ton of confidence right now if you let them hang around and start to believe things could get interesting.
Agreed. I hope the majority of the Tarboro fans don’t think this will just be another blowout and decide not to come because it’s going to be so cold. I hope they show up and give the kids a good environment. I think Tarboro is the better team but in a game that may have limited possessions - anything can happen.
That’s what I said in my post earlier, that I feel it will be closer than some are expecting because of limited possessions. We need to score on every possession because they are going to try and take a ton of time off of the clock

10 ran for over 1000 last year. They don’t seem to be using him as much this year. He’s only got 54 carries. Big #5 has 257 carries
Jassiah Hill. Senior RB 257 carries. 2,524 yards. Longest run 45 yards. 13 100 yard game. 43 TDs…That’s an insane stat line
And it’s impressive too that even against the 3 good teams they played (WRH, SC, and Whiteville) he averaged over 6ypc. So he ain’t just doing it against the cupcake teams
Pender will keep it close at halftime. Coaching and costly penalties will put them behind the chains in the second half. Tarboro will pull away in the fourth. Tarboro 48 Pender 18
I don’t care how many great athletes a team may have. It all comes back to discipline and the system for me. I haven’t seen another team in the 1A East with enough of either to go into Tarboro and win.
And just for the record and no other reason, please note this thread has not been high jacked by any unnamed western team!!!!

Say fellas. Lakewood confidence is at an all time high. They said they will 100% beat Tarboro. I mean you’re suppose to be confident now but at some point you gotta be real….
That guy said he wanna see what the hype all about. I admire the confidence I do, but that confidence usually turns into a nightmare really quickly.

Back in the days of real football when you weren't penalized for tackling the ball carrier, we had a third round playoff game against a team with a 250 lb fullback and 210 tailback. They ran the I-Formation (we had formations back then too, not just a spread). Both backs were over 1,500 each. We were small. I mean only one player over 200 lbs small, and he had a broken leg that night. Coach said "take their wheels out from under them and they'll be 125 lbs." We hit them ankle to knee high all the first quarter. Both were out of the game by halftime (not through intentional injuring, just making them hit the ground by taking their ankles off the turf). The team had less than 100 yards rushing that night and we went on to win 24-10 (got the hell beat out of us the next week though).
Tarboro is very, very well coached, year in and year out. They will take the "wheels out" from under the big boys and the big boys will get tired of being put on the turf. This will be a close one though, Tarboro 35-14. As for Lakewood/Wilson Prep......Lakewood will learn about how charters seem to get the better athletes into the same uniform and what happens to rural schools who are doing their best but have the cards stacked against them. Tarboro will take the preppies behind the woodshed again next Friday and all will be righted for another year in the realm of 1A traditional public school football......Stay warm!

I just watched the podcast. That coach who said “this back has more yards than Tarboro’s backs combined” .. he’s also got quadruple the amount of carries too. Give McDowell-Moore 40 carries in one game, he’ll have 500 yards. Dude has absolutely no clue what he’s even saying. He’s got the goatman fired up now, Tarboro by 4+ scores.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. They have no idea what they were talking about. It would be a running clock at halftime if Tarboro played Lakewood. Just crazy talk.
The one guy coaches at Union that said he saw Tarboro last year and wasn’t impressed…Union went 0-11 this year and only won 2 games since Covid 😂😂

Wilson Prep is going to beat Lakewood by 2 touchdowns. Why are they worried about coming to Tarboro, because that’s not going to happen.
Classic……their was a questioned asked could Tarboro be beat? And I answered yes. Anyone on any given night can be beat. Turn the ball over 5-7 times and have 200+ yards in penalties you can be beat. No one guaranteed Lakewood would beat Tarboro hell no one guranteed Lakewood would beat Wilson Prep.
