Tarboro vs Corvian for the Ship

Yeah… he was trippin pregame… it was funny! Yall did yall thing!! Should be extremely proud! Wish our seniors could’ve felt that!! Yall did it! Good shit! Until next time… ✌🏽
How’s your hoop team??! 👀👀😂
Tarboro is great at football and wrestling lol. I think y'all would probably beat Tarboro on the basketball side. Again apologies for that individual. Most Tarboro fans were kind of annoyed as well FWIW. Outside of football he's a really great guy though. Sometimes we let our emotions get the better of us and we go overboard.

It’s just so hard to believe kids can actually sacrifice and be coached up by a group of coaches that want ANY kids that wants to be a part of something to be successful… in life more than anything. Don’t beat yourself up trying to convince them. Good game Vikes!
Thought you said pops out? So bye!

Our kids are home grown as well. I know yall aren't gonna believe me, but we really don't recruit. We did have a group of kids that played together in local youth football that came over prior to High School. They still played youth FB in 9th grade cause we didn't have a team yet. They played Varsity at Corvian their sophomore year. They took their lumps for two years and were all Seniors this year. Most of the star players on the team. We added kids that had in the school that werw interested in football or playing other sports. Our kicker was a goalie on the soccer team.... our biggest OL/DL was a soccer player that we convinced to play football.
I am sure you are technically correct about not “recruiting “.
But Charters and other private schools actually just “select “.
Kind of like what is happening at UNC Football right now.
2nd and 3rd stringers at Mallard Creek and other schools within that 25 mile radius
Are just not available to the Mt Airy’s, Starmount’s, Forbush’s, etc.

Public schools at the 1A level are just completely at a disadvantage.
But then in Donald J MFing Trump’s world
Who really cares about Motherhood, apple pie, truth and the former American way.

The real issue isnt the fact that we are a charter school then. Its sound like your issue is that there are tons of kids we have access to in Charlotte. If we were a public 1A school, then you would still have an issue. We are right next door to Mallard Creek. Look at what they have been at to do in the area. Also, families in Charlotte will move to play for a specific school if they really wanted to go there. If they really wanted to play for Corvian and we had boundaries, they will find a way.

I don’t think the biggest problem is 2nd or 3rd stringers at Mallard Creek or Hough. How about 1st stringers at West Charlotte or North Mecklenburg who know they have zero chance against the traditional powers. I don’t think football will be as big a deal for charters as basketball is. You only need 2 or 3 great athletes to be great in hoops. Football requires a team of 25-35 kids to really compete at the highest level’s of 1A.

They’re weren’t 6’4 when they got there 4 years ago. 😂
Your son is a phenomenal athlete and great football player man. Tell him to keep working hard for the remainder of the year, he definitely could have a future playing football somewhere.

I remember seeing a comment from a robbinsvillie fan after Tarboro lost the championship game last year that said Tarboro has begun to fall🤣🤣. Talk about not aging well at all.

Tarboro kept on rolling and getting better. Robbinsville lost their stars and know that last year was their chance to beat Tarboro so they were salty. MA defense kept rolling but lost the head coach who was also the offensive coach (a lot of people don’t know that). A selfish man ruined what was being built here

Corvian is also a Public School. It's a Public Charter.
Yep. There is a massive difference in a public charter school and a public school with limited boundaries and no choice of the students they educate. Massive. But never fear, I'm sure Corvian will reload and be back next year. With Chambers open they may get some transfers from them to help.

Actually I think you may have hit it right on the nail without realizing so. Exactly how many 1A schools are there in Charlotte that are 1A? If more than one, then how many are not charters?
Twenty five mile radius correct? How large are the city limits of Charlotte? Also I believe the lottery is only used when a class, say freshman, would be overcrowded if all applicants were accepted? Is that correct as well?
So if a coach was smart, and had the cooperation of the administration, a class could, in theory, always ensure that enough spots would be available for any players that could possibly help his team?
In theory of course
