Agreed. The only team I've ever seen stop tarboro's offense in a championship game was MA last year. That East Surry team definitely could have beaten some higher up teams that year.

They did. They beat Reidsville who won 2A.
That year they had a great passing game and that beat Reidsville, Mitchell gave them there best game.

It feels good to be champs again. Most Viking fans said all year that this team was on a mission. Glad they were able to bring the trophy back home again
East Surry was on fire that season..... they had mad skills on offense that coulda put the pressure on them big league teams. When they shut down Tarboro's plays, that just shows how a solid defense can hold back the toughest offensive squads out there.
Hats off to Tarboro. That Tarboro T was better than advertised... They run it to perfection. It was a great game between to really good teams, but they were the better team today. Congrats to their players and coaches. Well coached team.
We have some talented young guys that need to step up, but we are losing alot!

I think that was taken out of context. Not all of our players were new to football when we started, but we did have alot that had never played before.
Tarboro played a great game offensively. Corvian played a great 2nd half offensively. They showed flashes of how good they could be. The score should’ve been worse, we were 0-4 on 2 point conversions at one point.
Great all around game. Tarboro will go to 2A next year and the expectations will be the same from the coaching staff. Great job to the young men on both sides today.

I'm still trying to understand why... go compile all of the Charter School records this year. I bet the majority of them weren't good. We had the same team for the last three years. Nobody had a problem when we were just a .500 team.
I just love how all the team's Corvian beat jumped on the Tarboro bandwagon. Congrats yall won a championship too... 🤷🏾♂️

Our kids are home grown as well. I know yall aren't gonna believe me, but we really don't recruit. We did have a group of kids that played together in local youth football that came over prior to High School. They still played youth FB in 9th grade cause we didn't have a team yet. They played Varsity at Corvian their sophomore year. They took their lumps for two years and were all Seniors this year. Most of the star players on the team. We added kids that had in the school that werw interested in football or playing other sports. Our kicker was a goalie on the soccer team.... our biggest OL/DL was a soccer player that we convinced to play football.
But we were real scared to get beat by two points instead of 9 cause they beat us by a whole two points more than y'all lol
We appreciate all of the love and support that has been showed towards us. It was a great year, and it’s hard to believe it’s over already. We’ve been blessed and spoiled, but I’ll tell you guys something, this doesn’t ever get old
Yea also did you realize our starting linebacker quit 2nd game of playoffs before we played you all i just can't understand why on defending state champion team what motivated that I do not know
Winning never gets old... On another note. Tarboro has some good kids on their team. They played physical between the whistles and were quick to help our boys up.

We've had a good ride together congrats to Tarboro now for us on to 3a and I feel we can assemble teams that can win in that division

It’s over now and the champ has been crowned, let’s recognize, respectfully, the work these kids and coaches put in to fight for a goal, although they fell short. It’s just so hard to believe kids can actually sacrifice and be coached up by a group of coaches that want ANY kids that wants to be a part of something to be successful… in life more than anything. Don’t beat yourself up trying to convince them. Good game Vikes!
Yeah he's our most passionate fan. He does go overboard on occasion lol. Sorry about that. Great team effort though by corvian. Coach craddock said in the press conference post game, each time we had them on the ropes they responded. Corvian didn't quit they kept fighting.
