Tarboro vs Corvian for the Ship

Now I know y'all surely did not think Tarboro was going to lose three championship games in a row now did you
Congrats to the Vikings on yet another state title! I figured they would give Corvian a taste of reality and glad they did. That is a school that can pretty much recruit players for their team. The Vikings this season seemed super focused and on a mission to win it all since day 1 of practice. It'll be interesting to see how they do with this new 8 class set up. But given how they more often than not have beaten larger schools in the past, I think they will be fine. Congrats again to Coach Craddock, his staff and the Viking players on a job very well done.

Congratulations Tarboro!!

Corvian is well coached and has some athletes. Other than at the 18-10 point, I really didn’t think Tarboro was threatened and I was not really concerned then. Will be interesting to see how Corvian is next year.

Really weird to get mountain guys pulling for the East but I definitely understand.
It's just hard to pull for a team that can recruit talent in a Metropolis area full of talent that's only in their third year of football when you're a team that's been chasing a state title for 15 plus years

Finished 1A winning 5 of the last 8 state championships. Back to 2A now
Still be about the same teams though...Is Tarboro growing as big as it is up on the west side....N-C is having to add on to their school to make up for all the new kids

Congratulations from A Mount Airy Fan

Amen....heard they went and hired their coach from a team in Ohio that won 7 straight high school championships...

How many times have we seen talented teams pack it in early against the Vikings because talent alone doesn’t beat Tarboro. The talent on the field plays in roles that complement their skills. They had solid schemes and their special teams made a big difference. They didn’t beat themselves. Their coaches milked every opportunity to stay in the game. Say what you want about them being a “fake school.” They went from 6-6 to 15-1 in one season using the players they played last year. That’s coaching, people. Huge props to the Cardinals staff.

I’m glad tarboro won. There is a problem with charters competing in 1 a

Not necessarily. East didn't stop Tarboro that night, Tarboro had no answer for that deadly passing attack.
Truth. Tarboro was matching the Cardinals drive for drive…until the turnovers happened. Tarboro stopped themselves when they got sloppy with ball security. No excuses though. I think that East Surry team could have beaten higher division champions that season with ease.
