SWE makes its second ever trip to the backyard lot tonight to take on the powerhouse Bulldogs in what should be a cold and beautiful night for football! The first and only other time we made this trip was just a couple of years ago, in which WRH dropped a 70 burger on us in a first round matchup that we shouldn't have even been in. We had no business in the playoffs. We tried to make that same case this season, with a midseason lull that no one around here could predicted. SWE has led at halftime in 9 of its 11 games, and theoretically, could be 10-1. But our biggest problem is putting teams away. And letting teams hang around has led to the record you see today. We put our foot on the throat of our opponent last week, but this is a different beast. The Bulldogs are the ones used to putting teams away. I do feel like this year may be the best year to catch them slipping, but we still have to perform well on all cylinders, especially through the air. Which leads to our second biggest problem: we can't catch. Our sophomore QB is the most accurate high school QB I've ever seen. He throws a beautiful ball, and it will be exactly where it needs to be. You'll see. But our receivers can't catch. You'll see that too. Especially #11. He'll be open, I promise you that. He either won't catch it, or won't even have the ball thrown to him. Our passing plays get our guys open and the balls will be there. The tight end can catch, and play action to the TE is generally successful, but the receivers....ehh. We would be so dangerous on offense if we could connect regularly. So we are still a run first team, and we run well. You will hear the name J'Karie Lovely a lot. He's our speed back, and if he gets to the outside, then goodnight! We have a short bowling ball at fb whenever we need a yard, and he's pretty good at knocking a few pins down in order to pick up the first. Everybody knows he's running up the gut when he gets the ball. It's no secret.
When it comes to defense, it was a shining star early on, but then it became the reason why we kept losing. I don't know how often Wallace passes, but we have a couple of ball hawks defending the pass. I'd expect an int if Wallace throws beyond the zone. Short passes will light us up though. I don't know why our zone defense is so bad.
With all this being said, I feel like WRH pulls it out 26-19. We'll have a couple of unsuccessful 2pt attempts.

Should arrive in Wallace at 545. Any suggestions that would make my belly happy? Would love to support local folks instead of national brands.

Wallace guys won't help ya out. I don't eat that way much but I like Miks. Sports bar type of food.
