I believe Reidsville has proved that Strength of Schedule has nothing to do with how a team will perform down the stretch as long has you beat the teams on your schedule like they are inferior. Every inferior team Reidsville has played a running clock was used. Also Reidsville Schedule will Slightly Change next year but the strength of Schedule will not. So please don't bring up strength of Schedule next year as a case of why they won't win a state title.

Can I be the first to bring it up Stanimallector?

Reidsville strength of schedule will hurt them come playoff time next year! :)

You see how bad it hurt them in 2016 right?

Stan you know they will be in here talking come playoff time and regular season. They used to do it back in the day too.

Most challenging games next year will be Magna Vista and Nwg.

I've always believed strength means very little, people will say a tuff scheduled will get a team ready come playoff time, but there is not a bit of prof to support any of that,it's just something people believe in their mind to be true, the cape fear team this year is prof that schedule strength means nothing people were saying they haven't played anyone, then they started laying the smack down on teams then people started to see how good they really were ,yes I know they got destroyed Dudley, but they made it to the ship where everyone else wanted to be,and the great Albemarle teams won many championships playing one of the weakest nonconference schedules ever...Props to Reidsville!!

I like Reidsville but ppl be real they dodged a HUGE bullet. If Reidsville is 2AA west. I'm not sure we're having this conference. Strength of schedule only matters when you're playing the cream of the crop (Shelby,Monroe,Huss, etc)

You would hope that some of the Rams returning opponents would improve next season.
Magna Vista, NW Guilford, and HP Andrews will be tough. Reynolds is a large school, but hasnt been good in a while. County schools have nowhere to go but up, with SE Mayodan leading the way. Conference... well, it is what it is and BY will probably be 2nd.

Would have been nice to keep Northern on the schedule. They were young last year.

Dodged what bullet????? We absolutely crushed whomever we played. With the exception of Madison in the first round, everyone had high power offenses or great defenses. Our defense took on em all and the O scored like crazy. We heard it all.... our offense averages this many yards or we have this D1 or that.... We crushed their averages. THE only team in this STATE in 2a that would have given us a game is Shelby, period! We can what if and guess all day on the outcome. I think it would have been a game for the ages. But please stop with the "We dodged something".

You guys said we wouldn't come out of the 2a west, now it's the 2aa west.
Like fb capital said the only team that could have beaten us is shelby.

By most accounts, the Lincolnton-Reidsville game was for the 2-A state championship. That's saying the winner of that game would have gotten past of Edenton.

Edenton should be pretty good in 1a next year...they have been coming on for several years now knocking on the door, and if all the coaches stay in place for years to come they could win the whole thing...first thing I noticed about Edenton when I first saw them last night they did look small size wise and it was evident from the begging they were over
Matched, but still had a great season nothing at all to be embarrased about, there's a lot of teams this year that can say they got blown out by Reidsville

Reidsville played in 13 organized scrimmages and came out on top with a 3-0 record in the end to win the championship. Three wins averaging 39-11 is not too shabby. I will take that every year.

I seriously doubt Reidsville would have an easy win(or even a win) against Huss or Monroe. Those are too unpredictable matchups that would just have to play out. Northside may have giving you fits in the 2nd half.

Best teams in 2a in 2016
1. Shelby
2. Reidsville
3. Huss
4. Monroe
5. Northside

Put Huss or Monroe in 2a, they would definitely challenge Reidsvill. Put Reidsville in 2aa west it would be interesting. I'll leave it at that. 2a was sooooo damn weak compared to 2aa. I can name at least 3 2aa teams that would had won 2a but NONE in 2a that would had won 2aa

Reidsville 16-0 2016 2A State Champions*

* ducked Shelby

Lol. We came over and watched you guys. Congrats. You were a very polished team and #34 was very good. It is beyond us how a team can make it to the state championship game and not have someone on your team that can snap on a punt. Utterly embarrassing. The "Aces" pulled a 2 of clubs as their long snapper. They gave you so many short fields. They'd been better off going for it on 4th down and not giving up the lost yardage on the bad snaps.

As far as the eye test, I'd agree with chopper. We must remember that Linconton got blown out by a slightly above average Maiden team so was Linconton really as good as advertised? Huss had the weapons to beat Reidsville and Monroe had the defense to keep Reidsville from scoring much. Trying to be unbiased I'd honestly say Shelby would beat Reidsville by 14+. Dax would key on #34 as he did on NS Jax qb (a 1300 yard rusher) and take him out of the game. He had 19 rushes for -2 yards against us. Reidsville's defense is good but i don't believe you'd be able to contain Jayden Borders or Truck.

Does any of this matter? Not really...you're still the 2A State Champions and were the 2AA, 3A, and 3AA champions (as we beat South Point and Monroe beat Weddington in the regular season).

Just make sure you send the NCHSAA a Christmas card thanking them for the subdividing of the classifications!

Lincolnton beat South Point we must remember that too. I think Lincolnton is a top 5 2a team.

I honestly think Reidsville and Shelby would have won 3a and 3aa.

Really???...The Rams are state champions...end of conversation...I personally am so satisfied because myself and countless others coached these young men since flag football...they earned this championship and the coaches , players and parents should take a bow...job well done!!..go start your own thread Shelby fans

OK I'll play here we go:

Reidsville beat Lincolnton who beat East Lincoln who beat Huss who either made Shelby nervous or only kept game close because of dropped passes depending on who you ask.

HMMM...

We beat huss who beat south Point who beat rocky mount . We beat Monroe who beat weddington who beat unbeaten Eastern Guilford who was coached by a former Reidsville coach

Maybe.

But if the teams end up playing and somehow Reidsville wins (gasp for effect here) I guarantee a poster will call Shelby garbage.

Write it down.

Wait no fair you edited post. If you gonna play you got to stick with OG.

Oh I edited this one too.

True dat as the kids say ( no pun intended)

He will call me trash shortly for calling him out for coaching kids and calling other kids teams trash

But I should expect as much as I lofted a brick in his /her direction ..... you know seasons over I'm bored and have nothing better to do than act like an idiot on a message board ..

Come over during baseball. I need some help with Maddox#1 retiring.

Wait does Shelby play that sport?

OOPS looked up ya'lls record for last year.

Never mind.

Start talking a little trash to each other and it's like a magnet for Chopper

You've done run the wizard off ! You trying to run Kidd off too? Don't he's good people and has a year pass to the Pisgah Covered bridge which funny enough the family stopped there a couple years ago and I was nearly attacked by an anaconda hiding under the bridge ! Screamed like a girl and haven't been back

SHUT UP

Don't worry SL hard to run me off.

Been married 30 years.(to same woman).

Not sure what qualifies as "tail chasing" down ya'lls way but here in Randolph involves either a lot of money(which I do not have)(women) or high powered rifle (which I do have) (whitetail).

Can't let a free pass go to waste. In my price range.

See I can handle it.

How in the world did we go from please don't bring up Reidsville strength of Schedule anymore to this pissing contest we hav now. No need of talking about something we have no way of knowing what the outcome would have been.

Seems like Shelby fans are trying mighty hard to convince others of their superiority over the other state champions. I keep looking at that 2-point win over an average Crest team on Shelby's schedule... is there a man behind the curtain?

Wonder if when Crest won the 4A title in 1994 people were giving them a hard time for only having a 13 point win over a 7-4 Shelby team.
Wonder if when Crest won the 4A title in 1996 people were giving them a hard time for only having a 7 point win over an 8-5 Shelby team.
Wonder if when Crest won the 3AA title in 2003 people were giving them a hard time for a 3 point loss to Shelby.
Wonder if when Crest won the 3AA title in 2004 people were giving them a hard time for only having a 3 point win over Shelby.

Grow up Peter Pan. It's called a rivalry game for a reason. Records don't matter and you never know who is going to win. We beat the back to back 3AA champs. The Lions stand behind no curtain....we don't have to.

i agree. a very good SOS may get a team a little more "big game ready" than a weak SOS, but a very good SOS can also get your team more fatigued, more beat up, and with more injuries than a weak SOS can. especially your starters. it can work both ways.

I agree. I think we all can agree. We're already bored lmao. Damn i wish Reidsville and Shelby could spark a series

I say let Shelby AD contact Reidsville's AD or vice verse in the future and workout a mutual site somewhere in between both towns or at each other's stadium and let's go at it every year. Because this won't end until they face each other. Reidsville wants redemption and Shelby wants to prove Reidsville inferior to them.

If those Crest champions were claiming to be unbeatable with flimsy wins over average Shelby teams, then yes, they should be viewed with equal skepticism. Did the Crest fans in those years you listed claim to be superior to all the other state champs in those years?
