State BOE enters agreement with NCHSAA

I'd love to hear some thoughts about this M.O.U. that the two groups have entered into.

I'm all for some oversight when it comes to the NCHSAA. They don't handle things correctly in some cases, but there seems to be zero desire to learn from their mistakes. I don't care if you screw up... just learn from it and do better next time... and for PETE'S SAKE... Ask your coaches if you don't know how something will go.. (still worked up about how the NCHSAA screwed up the 2020 state championships in small high school gyms).

However... I'm not at all for the elected officials in Raleigh having anything to do with the oversight. They think in terms of popularity and reelection and have no desire to do the right thing unless it is popular with their constituents.

The thing that got me when I read about this in the HighSchoolOT e-mail is that the NCHSAA agreed to set classification "primarily" based on enrollment (ADMs). I thought the new formula that the NCHSAA had devised where they took into account a variety of different factors was a good one and should be retained. I'm curious to see how this new agreement plays out.
