It is going to take a while to get used to this 2A board. Wednesday and no mention of the game from what I can see. A long series and great rivalry between two distinguished programs. Some great games over the years. Always look forward to the challenge of this week.

I'm afraid there won't be much of a challenge this week for your red raiders. We look so unorganized it's unreal. Got a bunch of decent looking athletes but lack the want to. This one will be ugly

Charlotte Catholic was still in 2A, they were having a stellar year, had gotten a lot of publicity and would go on to win the title.
During that season CC had a non-conference game with North Lincoln who was no match for the cougars. The knights coach was quoted in the Local newspaper as saying “We’re just going to go out and try to have some fun”... I don’t know what else this poor guy could have said. I don’t hardly believe he was thinking about having fun or expecting his team to enjoy it, knowing what was coming up the road.
Right now, all things considered, I’m feeling like the North Lincoln coach did, back then, when I think about who we have to play This week.
By game time, though, I’ll probably have convinced myself we can win it. Being a Lincolnton sort and a little detached from reality, I don’t pick against the Wolves, I believe they have a chance of winning anytime they play and hope they take something away from each game to help them improve.
Belmont is a tough town and so are their teams. The worst thing we could do is NOT play hard.
Some way, some how, we have to give it all we got or face another loss and maybe an awfully dismal season.

That's pretty much the way I approach each week (and season). Or as john Fox used to always say: It is, what it is.

egfan, you are a faithful and loyal Warrior. You have always stuck with your team.
I’ve noticed that many of these so called fans are on here when their team is only winning or they’re expecting a good season. How brave is that.
As always, good luck to EG. one of my favorites.

It is true that we didn't look so good last week... But, its starting to get cooler, the leaves are starting to fall, and I expect South Point to offer Chik Fil A sanwiches. The game will start 0-0 (after the states slowest rendition of the National Anthem) and somebody will then kick off. The possibilities are mind boggling, and one of those is that we find a way to grow up quickly and win this game! That's my mindset going into Belmont tomorrow. Reality may bite early and often, but I wont pick against the Wolves either, Lincolnton. If a whoopins coming, I will be there to take it...and if a win is in the cards, I'll pull some turf off the field and head home!

Go Wolves!

(and speed up the anthem...we won that battle, for pete's sake! (;

Every program has tough years. Lincolnton looks like this will be one of those years. Or they could start off not so good and win the state title. Maybe next year on that as Hibriten gonna repeat :) Good luck Wolves I will be pulling for ya. I still remember South Point at Hibriten not too long ago. That wound still hasn't healed.

What’s the status of the SP qb? I sure hope this young man can be back on the field this yr - however his injury appeared to be serious.

I’ll be there too, Always a Wolf. If you haven’t noticed the spirit rock in front of the high school I think you’ll like it. “Once a Wolf Always a Wolf”, is painted across it.

GSO, it’s good to hear from you, my friend. I hope all is well with you and that people in the ever growing Triad are being good to you. My parents bought me a set of World Book Encyclopedias in 1962. In it they have the population of Greensboro listed at around 74000 (Wikipedia had the 1960 population at 119,000) and the population of Winston-Salem at 87,000.
Google has the current population of Greensboro at 287,000 and Winston-Salem at 242,000. That equals a big city.

Thanks BlueRidge Tire. All the best to the mighty Panthers. Classy program, classy posters.
BTW you get my vote for having one of the best screen names on NC Preps.

When I read the post like these from Lincolnton fans I get reminded why I have always had extreme respect for you folks. You support your team the rare years that aren't as bright as most while you are feeling the pain of what appears to be a challenging season. We that have been on this site for sometime know very well that whatever ails the current team does not taint a storied program like yours. This season is early a lot of good times will
derive from it before it is over. I would expect the future to be very bright for the Wolf nation.

Thank Raidersway. We too, have a lot of respect for South Point. If there ever was a championship program it’s the Red Raiders. I look for SP to be playing deep in the playoffs and to possibly win it all, again.

Love me some Lincolnton. Hope you are well, brother! Thank the Lord everyday that you don't have to live in Cleveland County!

In the blind, Keaton can run a 4.4 forty on one leg! Are we getting soft? Get your ass out there, boy!

42-7 final.

Raiders look good. Believe it or not, the Wolves showed alot of improvement from week 1.

Beautiful night for a game...great location...all good, except for the score. Good luck to the Red Raiders from here on out.

Congratulations to all the Raiders posters. They beat us 42-7 and that was without their starting quarterback.
The Wolves rarely got on SP’s side of the field.

Lincolnton has some tough players and I saw something late that might be a bright spot for us against lesser teams but since I’m not sure if it will be a plus for us I won’t go into detail.

Glad to see some of our fans come out given last week’s trouncing.
Good luck to South Point the rest of the year, Thanks Belmont people for being good to us when we come to Lineberger Stadium.

If any of our players read these message boards, be strong, keep your heads up and practice hard and perhaps some good things will happen. Win or lose I for one am always grateful for your efforts.

Was impressed with a handful of kids from Lincolnton but they are struggling to put all of the pieces together. Number 8 played a great game defensively and the little RB #5 has some very quick feet. Really proud of backup QB Leeper. He came in last week in an extremely tough situation that he did not expect to be in. He looked much more comfortable last night. Gibson and Jones ran hard and the Oline should continue to develop. Hale will start practicing again this week but they will bring him back slowly.
