South Columbus head coach reassigned

It's mind blowing to me who in TC doesn't want Coach Price I personally don't know any .... I hated he left ....ill take two years of winning over what I've seen lately... Either way any word on JP coach prices son.... Is he ready to take that leap? Or he is waiting on his spot at WRH.... South Columbus just can't compete with the dollars and cents that is floating around WRH....

One aspect that you rarely see mentioned are the wishes of the coach's family. Maybe the spouse does not want to move. Maybe they feel their children are in better situation where they are currently. Maybe parents or spouse's parents are in poor health and they want to be nearby. I imagine there only a minority of 1A and 2A jobs were the salary differential is worth uprooting your family from a favorable situation. I go back to a previous question. What are you (and family) willing to give up to be a head coach or a head coach at a school considered to be more prestigious?

qtr-strm, I know you aren't trying to "pick a fight" and neither am I. Just wanted to point out a couple of things. We at South Columbus do believe that we too have the athletes to make a deep run pretty often. We were in the Eastern finals in 2 of Coach Fonvielle's last 3 years. Tarboro, with Todd Gurley, took the lead with less than a minute to go and went on to win the State Championship in the 1st game with them. Coach Price took us to the 2A State Championship 2 years before he left to go to Wallace. WRH does have a pile of athletes but how many state titles did y'all win before Coach Price got there with those same athletes. You might not have won any of those 4 if he hadn't decided to go to Wallace, or you may have won all 7 years. Battle Holley left the program in good shape and it only took one year to tear it down, so just saying to enjoy what you have while it is there. Bulldogs could have given a good game to anybody they played this year but it can all change in the blink of an eye. WRH truly does have a tradition of athletes, but what I am trying to say is that y'all have been blessed with some of the best coaching over that last 20 years that a high school program could possibly ask for to go along with them. Congrats on keeping Coach Price, he obviously sees that ya'll do appreciate him and any success that WRH has is deserved for making that happen. Hopefully South Columbus will find the coach that will lead us to where you guys are now. Best of luck on a 3-peat!!

Well I for one would have loved to seen coach price back at south but being as it's clearly off the table it's time to move on and find the guy that is gonna carry us over that hump and into a state championship! There's coaches every year winning state championships that their last name ain't price! We've got the talent and core of guys to be pretty dang strong the next couple of years with a upcoming junior(Currently a sophomore) at quarterback so let's make the chips fall at kill hill and get us a good one!

I talked to a former Stallion player this week that was in the weight room one day. He said he has never seen a more focused group of boys. They are working hard for Coach Dove. Can't wait to see what Fall 2016 brings!
