It should be an interesting year in the SMC. The 3 powerhouses of Murphy, Swain, and Robbinsville will always field solid teams. Can Cherokee crack the top 3 this year? Any thoughts?

It will probably come down to the regular 3 fighting for it. The Bulldogs should be a little harder to handle this year with more weapons to choose from than last year. There is a very talented group for the coaches to work with. I'm very excited to see what#42 can do when coached up for a full year in running the football. He's a good bit bigger this year at around 210 of course he'll lose some of that over the summer . Kadrian McRae also looks a bit stronger this spring and should have a good Jr. Year.

Ok this topic is slow, time to stir the pot.
How they will finish.
1.Murphy
2.Swain
3.Cherokee
4.Robbinsville
5.Rosman
6.Andrews
7.Hayesville

Rosman will be bad this yr! Tigers and jackets will be fighting for last place. Andrews at 5th, cherokee and swain 3rd and 4th. Rville and Murphy for 1st and 2nd.

Murphy and swain should be locked in fighting for the title not going to predict any of the others maybe some surprises. I hope it is all around competitive!

Swain?

Swain will have the smallest amount of seniors they have had in many years.

I'm not real sure how good Swain and Robbinsville will be this year as compared to the previous 2 years. I believe Murphy and Cherokee probably have the most young talent. I don't know if that means they're maybe a year away from being special or if the talent will shine through this year. Looking forward to some competitive games this year among the top four.

That is correct. Other players besides seniors are allowed to play. Swain and Cherokee will do fine this year.

Swain doesnt have any All Conference players returning. And the only have 11 seniors or round about.
rVille has 4 returning.

Much respect for the SMC. Your Conference is always top notch but locally I can't wait to see the top 3 pics in the YVC. Okay back to the SMC

Wow Wildcat!

Rville had 38 varsity and 30 JVs.
Robbinsville lost their entire line, QB and best back. I know their tradition will carry them like Swain but I think Cherokee and Murphy's young experienced talent will prevail in a tight battle with Robbinsville & Swain. Just my opinion

Rville returns 4 all conference players and three are linemen. Rville might have the best line in the SMC for the fourth straight year.
Parker can transfer. I think he will stay in Andrews though.

Hooper, Odom, Phillips, and Bradley will all be returning starters on the line.

Cherokee will be tough this year no doubt. It's still going to be difficult for them to unseat the usual order of things. I do think that this will be the year for them to squeak into the top 3. Who will be out of the top 3 is the question. Naturally I don't believe it'll be Murphy. Looking forward to the year I believe they'll be some quality football especially among the top 4.

When are ya'll playing a team like Davidson Day or Concord like Albemarle has the past 4 years :rolleyes::rolleyes:

For Murphy I really don't have an answer. I think for Murphy and most of the SMC it's probably not going to happen because of distance. You're talking a 6 hr drive by bus. It's just crazy to go that far considering fuel cost. There are a lot of quality teams closer than that.

I thought y'all played them. Do you have them away this year? That's going to be a long trip if so. I think it's crazy to go that far but that's just my opinion. Good luck against them, it'll be a tough game for sure.

On behalf of BK...Murphy, Robbinsville, Swain, Cherokee and probably at this point the entire SMC equals an Albemarle loss. There is no shame in a loss to Country Day for Robbinsville and on Albemarle part a blowout loss to Concord or Davidson Day is not shameful either. It's just you guys are a lot closer to the beat down.

Lol True!

He is like poopwarner. Might be the same person.

He trashes Rville all the time. Wonder why. Lol.
Rville 14state titles. Albermale has what? 5 or 6. Nuff said!
