Nothing has changed, the varsity program at Murphy will remain a joke as long as the current head coach is in place. 'Dogs were able to get by on talent for years but now that the current coach's act has worn thin and the talent no longer bothers to play, you see the results and they're not pretty.
I didn't attend a game last year and won't be attending another one as long as the administration is content with this. The difference between the JV program and the varsity program the last few years is night and day and there's a good reason for that. It's pretty telling when you talk to pretty much any former player of the varsity coach and not one of them has anything positive to say about his coaching ability. Ask them the same question about the coaching they got on the JV team and you'll get a totally different response.
It's clear what the problem is and what needs to happen, but when nothing happened after last season, I lost any faith in the administration actually caring whether or not the basketball program is terrible.
