Looking at the Southwestern 2A conference, it is very possible that there could be a three way tie for the conference title in a little over two weeks. If East Rutherford beats Shelby and Shelby beats South Point the next week, this happens. Question is, how is this tie broken? Is it a coin toss or is there some other method in place according to conference rules? My understanding is that only two team from this conference get into the playoffs, so does the short straw go home? Three of the best teams in the state and one does not even get in? I have never pulled for Shelby in my life but in this scenario, Shelby needs to beat East Rutherford so that SP and Shelby can dook it out for the conference title in the season finale. Winner will be the conference champ and the loser gets the #2 seed. I know, I know, there are other game to be played which could change things but if either of these three teams lose to any of the bottom three, that team does not deserve to make the playoffs anyway.
