Well Ill say it,,.... Probably should have lost this game, .... Crest defense tore our offensive line up most of the game......but the last drive they sucked it up and helped win us the game

14-12 little over 3 to go, Crest punting snaps it over the punters head and into the endzone for a safety to tie the game

Shelby takes the ball and takes the ball down the field for a game winning drive....Malik was pressured all night long, but made the plays at the end to win this game

This is how Crest/Shelby is supposed to go great defensive game.... We are lucky to come away with this victory.....
Best of luck rest of the way Chargers..Heck of a game plan tonight

Way to go Lions great defensive stop at the end of the game with an INT

Shelby made enough plays to win and Crest goofed around enough to lose. Shelby QB was MVP of the game creating plays out of nothing when under pressure. Good game Shelby and good luck rest of the season.

Hats off to Shelby! Wish #3 would have touched the ball a few more times!

Crazy game and a hard fought game by both teams.Crest defense was all over the place and their offense was able to run some on Shelby's defense.Great game by 12 for Shelby and 14 gives it his all on ever play.O line must improve. This game showed what happens when you loose 13 good starters.

Cleveland Cty nemesis Gaffney lost to Harding tonight. Biggest upset of the week

No offense but it's like the Shelby QB has nobody to throw to. Maybe 1 decent receiver.
We were spoiled the last few years with Shelby's 2 best receivers ever. Built the offense on the long ball. We do not have that type of guys this year. We've been effective throwing quick balls to the sidelines, but didn't do much of that this game.

Should have thrown to No#3 Tucker more.
Open many plays tonight, then finally got it to him, Surratt did all he could do, still gotta get line play better.
Our 2 back set had us moving, they couldn't stop it, need it more

Lots of upside for Crest even though they gave this game away they showed great strides. Crest just needs to eliminate all those costly bone headed mistakes they have ben making all season. They nearly gave the game away to TCR a couple of weeks ago. You give a team like Shelby that many breaks they will eventually cash in. Coaching decisions in this game a few times were a little puzzling but they are still developing their team and are starting to get the people in the right places and putting the puzzle together. I am never happy with a loss of any kind but for the first time in 2 seasons I see hope for this team to turn the corner and begin to make a run! The defense is nasty, we have found a workhorse running back and we just need to find a way to settle the QB down and simplify things to get him some more confidence so he can find his groove. I also agree that number 3 needs to be mu ch more involved in the passing game. He is a playmaker and needs more rep on the offensive side of the ball, if he is targeted more he will make plays!

Both defenses played outstanding for the most part... There were a couple big plays on both sides.... The Crest defense when not blitzing us to death, dropped 7 and sometimes 8 in coverage...

We stopped Crest on a goaline stand first half, they stopped us on a goaline stand in the second half.... All week I read that the special teams mistake or big play would win the game and tonight it did....
Both Qb's Struggled overall, we only had around 60-70 yards passing with an INT and Crest QB complete just a few passes with 3 interceptions.... Both defenses stood out...

Crest blocked a field goal, we missed a field goal.... We got a safety when they fumbled a snap in the endzone after we turned it over on downs at the 1, then we got another safety on the botched snap on the punt...

Running game for both pretty effective at times..... another Crest Shelby game that has about everything you can imagine happen in the game.....

The last drive of the game when we needed it most was sheer determination against a defense that had played their hearts out..

hats off to all kids on both sides, another epic county rivalry game

Can someone explain why, on the first free kick by Crest after their first safety, there wasn't offsetting penalties called and the play done all over? A live ball holding penalty on Shelby and a live ball facemask on Crest, but the ball was placed at the end of the runback.

Who cares? Go talk about it on the 4a board with all the geniuses that picked Harding to get boot stomped...LOL

:DI was the lone pick to say it would be close and Harding had a shot. Harding did something Crest and Shelby couldn't pull off after the disco era.

Congrats on the win. I sincerely hope your passing game improves with KM, South Pointe, and South point looming.

Those won't be effective against very quick defenses. There's lots of dropped balls. I hope your receivers can get it together soon. They don't have to be super stars after the catch, just catch the ball.

Crest had a free run at the Shelby QB a number of times and he evaded to pick up yards or keep the play alive. Full credit to him for making plays but Crest needed to bring him down more.

Shelby defense was great tonight and really stepped up when Crest got the lead. The INT after the Crest INT was also a huge play and is great to make happen after a sudden change.

Congratulations to both teams, both will benefit from a battle like that. I was impressed w/ Crest's D, there defensive line was a concerned of mine coming into this game.

It wasn't a thing of beauty, but I was proud that we found a way to win, just as we did in the Freedom game. A win is a win. Both fan bases should be proud of the effort the young men from both squads gave last night.

As for Shelby, we have a ways to go, however, we have played a tough schedule so far, and despite everything, we stand 4-0. This team has shown a lot of fight, regardless of the concerns.

Sounded like an entertaining game from twitter updates etc.. correct to call it a sloppy game? Shelby hasnt played pretty football every week but they have found different ways to win. down and but never out. Congrats on the win but please dont say the offensive line was dominated..Blk&goldDynasty will hunt you down in the streets.

We are small 2A team that lost 13 starters and just got through beating our 4th 3A team in a row who all have successful winning football programs.I will take that all day long.

Yeah.....he'll never admit that there isn't a 4A team in the state that will schedule much less play 4 5A size schools in a row. Make that 5A better than average schools. The 4A guys can't comprehend how difficult playing up is because they never have to. Yes, they would have to go out of state but do it....we do!

I think the fact that Shelby doesn't shy away from playing the bigger schools and harder schedules contributes to them being a better team each year. It definitely makes them more prepared for playoffs each year. I don't know many 3A schools that would want to face off against South Pointe RH but they are. Sometimes a schedule that's too easy isn't good, teams need to be battle tested. There is nothing worse than going undefeated and getting blind sided and thumped round 1 or 2 of the playoffs when you are highly favored.

True, but aren't you tired of hearing about these knuckleheads? I know I am! Strap em up, girls!
