Penalties. period. Kudos to Robbinsville. they hung in and took advantage. And held smoky off at the end. It was a great game.
Although at the start it was looking to be very one sided. Smoky cleans it up a bit and they are going to be fine.
Penalties really hurt Robbinsville in this game too.
Smoky had another back that had a chuck of yds. We have work to do but we greatly improved from beginning of game to end.
penalties alone doesnt explain why Robbinsville went on 26-0 run the last 3 qtrs...give the Knights credit for keeping cool when down three scores and pitching a shutout last 3 qtrs
Robbinsville had some bunch of bad penalties too. The penalties on both teams and the lengthy meetings by the officials hurt the flow of the game. Hopefully it was just first game issues.
This game right here is a perfect example what difference having a great head coach, that can make the correct ajustments at the right time..I'm not saying Smokeys coach is bad I've read nothing but good things about him.
That's what makes week 1 so much fun to watch. You can see kids and coaches get into a click right before your eyes. The team you see in the first quarter can sometimes be a totally different one by the 4th quarter.
Those were citizen-times stats i posted. I have no idea which one is more valid. Good question tho.
Also, they announced Anderson passed the 4,000 mark early in the Smoky game but Maxpreps showed he had 4,100 plus before the game started.
Probably maxpreps they are entered by Robbinsville. The citizen stats are called in by the home team.
