Only those of us in the ECC saw that coming. Clinton just happened to have a very bad game against ED, which we thought would happen after that emotional win against Wallace the week before. They won, but our defense held them to the lowest offensive output of the season.
Obviously ED wasn't the same team as last year, but I still expected to see em play ledford next week. Oh well, I guess RR is coming to Thomasville instead.
Maybe I'm ignorant of the East too.....I don't know anybody that saw that one coming
I remember 1 ED poster talking smack last year saying " Oh we'll be back in the state championship next year, where will Hibriten be?"

That might be the case. But ED lost like 27 seniors. Last year was their first title game in many many many years. Not sure if he was just sour, but many people saw this coming down east
Yea my fault, just pointing out this guy why the ED fan last year said they would be back.
Looks like we will be there again. I guess all of those freaking monsters they had graduated and left little for this year. I am glad we don't have to play that team again.
I think everyone from E.D. saw this coming. That is why, as someone else asked why there was no one from ED posting. ED just lost too much. It seems our area takes a little longer to rebuild than others. Don't know why, we have a larger enrollment. Maybe because we're a more rural area than others. But that is just a guess. We seem to peak about every 10 yrs. The kids always give it their all, just sometimes come up short. BlueRidge, BlackKnightNut,Hibritten.. wish we could've seen ya'll again. Very surprised at this one, kinda hate to see ED not get a chance at Ledford! Nothing but respect for ED, great program, and stadium!!! Would have liked to see a rematch in the Regional Finals!!! Cheer the Black Knights on, and Good Luck next season!
So now I need to see what RR has. What is their style of play? Are they fast? Speed is usually what gives ledford trouble, though this year they are quicker than usual.
Gotta be honest...RR doesn't scare anyone. Talk about a program that no one says a word about. I usually forget all about them, in ALL sports. They are just in the way. But, here they stand in rd 2. Maybe this is their year lol.
Roanoke Rapids has now been to the Playoffs 5 consecutive years. we are coached by Eric Mcdaniels, in his 29th year of coaching, 5 with Roanoke Rapids. We did reach the 3rd rd in 2014, and were beat by ED.
We are 44-20, 4-4 in playoff, these last 5 years.
We play hard nose, smack you in the mouth football. No non-sense coaching, and respect for our opponents.

Won't see me there. I have no ties to RR or your opponent. However, non support or belief in one's team doesn't make the comments derogatory. Didn't insult them. Just stated my opinion. Feel free to say my team isnt a threat. We have no state championships. Only an Eastern Championship, before they made it east vs west. I wont feel like your comments are derogatory. I know last year they came to randleman and lost 43 to 7 don’t see how they could have gotten to much better but things happen.
He should have gotten the Ptank job this season but they black balled him. Eric Mac is a really good coach. He wanted to come home to coach and he was denied, really screwed up situation
But the "They are just in the way" comment is so wrong.
We beat Tarboro in 2015, and they will not schedule us anymore.
We beat the Pam Pack in 2016. They will not schedule us.
As for last year at Randleman, we were beat slam up. At the end of the reg. season we had 12 starters out, including our top 2 RBs.
Ledford may have the best D in the 2AA this year. 57 pts scored against. So we are hoping for a lot of breaks going our way.
As for Coach "Mac", he is Class, 24/7. We are very lucky to have 'em, and we do thank him and his Staff, for reviving our Program.

Quick question for the Yellow Jackets. You guys lost to 1a Northampton early in the season. Northampton lost to my lowly Falcons. Were you at that game?
Was at the Game. Endowment game, we had our starting QB and Top 2 RBs out for the game. 6 turnovers, 2 pick 6s. Our RBs only came back at mid season.
As for Northampton. They are a #1 seed in 1A Playoffs. And our game with them is always their Super Bowl. They are well coached and have grown in #s the past few years. As for Bertie, the few times I have seen 'em they play, they play hard.
There isn't any 2A teams, other than our Conference teams to schedule in our area, so for the travel, we stay close to home.
Concerning Ledford... I have Rarely seen a harder hitting group of kids. They bring the hammer at all times. I’m not a Ledford fan in any way, shape or form. They hurt people but they aren’t dirty at all.

Not that I've seen them, but looking at stats and scores, I was wondering if they had a potent offense. Defense seems dynamite, but if someone can score decently on them, can their offense keep up?
Depends on a few factors. Ledford depends on turnovers to put their offense in great field position. Their D makes points happen. Their O is better with the fast QB, they finally evolved but not really a threat to hit you through the air.
North had a safety on a punt off a bad snap. Otherwise it was 7-7. Won't even talk about the other stuff cause that's just how it goes sometimes.

No question... Ledford won’t usually fare well in an offensive shootout.
The best word that I’ve seen used to describe their offense is “pedestrian”.
I don’t usually like to look ahead... but Cummings won’t win on Friday... I’m certain we’re headed east next week to visit SWE. I like a good road trip. I don’t recall ever going to Edgecombe county.
You should count your blessings. Edgecombe is home, but good lord does it suck here. I don't know how I ended up back here. I love my school, but that's about it.

Bertie had their time in the early 2000s era with a couple of championships. Most schools have cycles. But I'ved lived in Lewiston....Bertie County might have Edgecombe County beat as far as sheer nothingness is concerned. Lol
I could definitely say some things about Davidson county but will restrict myself to saying things have been mentioned bedore on this board lol.
I agree, Bertie is desolate. It's almost as bad as Hyde and Tyrell Counties. Bertie is the home of Kent Bazemore. He was a star at ODU and a great pro player in the NBA. From the tiny town of Kelford.
If you had the same team as last year we dang sure would not want to play you all again. ED's players were massive and fast. When I first seen them come out I said ah they are going to be slow. I found out very fast I was wrong. I think you guys had the better team except we found a way to win. I hope that makes sense. It looked like we were playing the UNC tarheels. They probably would have been easier to beat. I hope you all build up and win one. It took us forever but if you guys keep getting talent like that it will come sooner then later! If you all have a team like that again I hope it is an off year for us. I think 1 game vs ED was enough for us for about 50 years, lol. Good luck in the future.
One more thing ED74. That rb you all had that scored the first td against us. What was the exact injury he had? I think he rushed 3 times for over 100 yards and 81 on that 3 and 6 if I am not mistaken. I was so cold I can't remember exactly. I think he came back in for a play or maybe not in the 3rd. Anyway, yeah I was curious about his injury. Nightmare running back is what I call him
Clinton is starting to turn that way.....what we had 6-7 shootings the last 2 months....4 in the month of September alone including my cousin.....alot for a small rural town its getting bad
