RIchmond picked to be 3rd in SEC

jmac i just wanted to touch on something you said. One big reason why we allow opponents to start drives at the 30 is because our kickers typical range is about the 5. Sometimes he can get it in the endzone but not consitantly. Bailey has stated that allowing teams to get returns in high school from the 5 or so is to dangerous. Not many high school teams even as fast as we are have the speed to cover that without giving up big returns on a regular basis. I agree with what your saying but letting teams return it from the 5 is not a good alternative.

then covering kicks must be a lot harder than in the past. if we are going to do these non returnable kicks then better placement must be worked on. starting at the 40 is not much worst than doing an on-side kick every time if the rationale that you stated and Bailey attest to is true. we actually have a chance of recovering the ball.

DDAWG, Special Teams and the lack of a strong outside rusher like McMillan from last year is the only thing this team is missing. The passing game is as good as it has been under Bailey (not even close). The O line has gotten better. Other than the big return on friday this team tackles very well and they seem to be in great shape. Being tested against Britt, MC and PC should be of benefit in a couple of weeks and down the road. The playing calling friday was some of Bailey's best work for sure. He deserves kudos on that for sure.

that matchup can surely happen jm... Britt, Richmond, PC, WF a pretty good 4 there. It would be sweet if Scot were bigger and could be in the big mix..
