Saw Pass entered the portal. Always wonder what would have been if he played football at the next level. Best of luck to that young man

What does that even mean? Someone in the administration messed up? Grades? Attendence?I am hearing unconfirmed reports that there is massive bad news concerning administrative issues regarding the Rams basketball program that will soon be made public. Better buckle up.
It means you will have to wait until the central office issues a press release. What does that even mean? Someone in the administration messed up? Grades? Attendence?
It was about out of date physicals and medical participation forms not being kept up with.
Sounds like an administrative oversight if that is the case. Would tarnish a spectacular season and I guess would technically negate the win streak.
It will be interesting to see exactly WHO is "held accountable." More than just medical forms. It was about out of date physicals and medical participation forms not being kept up with.

Of course, but that’s all it takes. If a physical is out of date it’s as serious to the NCHSAa as if a player is out of district.
Explain Que being mad?
Correct. And the Principal is supposed to oversee the AD. Personnel matters are not made public. At the end of the day aint the athletic director responsible for making sure all paperwork is current and correct?
Hope they get it all worked out, kids worked too hard for something outside their control to possibly hurt all they did on the court
Eligibility forms as well. All I heard was medical forms
A lot of times guys give you heck on here and I’ve seen claims of you being a Reidsville homer and taking up for anything about them. You deserve credit for coming here and posting that. I’ve met you and I know you are a standup guy along with Rambbq. Hopefully they will punish the appropriate people as Shelby Lion posted. I thought his post was classy also. Easy to throw stones.I am hearing unconfirmed reports that there is massive bad news concerning administrative issues regarding the Rams basketball program that will soon be made public. Yeah, Otis, those involved in this train wreck at Reidsville High should be very, very thankful that I am no longer on the school board. Otherwise, if what I am being told is true, they should have already gotten their resumes updated.A lot of times guys give you heck on here and I’ve seen claims of you being a Reidsville homer and taking up for anything about them. Que went to Stoneville High School. Coached at Reidsville for several seasons (1978 to 1986)..Que graduated from Reidsville, so you all might be in the clear!
This isn’t the 80’s anymore. Thats not how it works. NC high schools all use a system called Dragonfly that tracks all documentation on student athletes. This includes residency, academic eligibility, physicals, concussion protocol, and other items. Parents and coaches check off on Dragonfly requirements. The AD and Principal CERTIFY that all documentation is complete and kids are eligible. Dragonfly will flag a kid or kids’ eligibility if everything is not signed off on and certified. This is absolutely on the AD and Principal. Kids are not even eligible to practice until all documentation is updated and complete. This is state and federal law.True Mule because they are the authority in charge but if Reidsville operates like most schools, coaches have to know if an athlete has a physical. In most states kids can’t even participate in off season practices without a physical. Very few if any AD’s and certainly no principal is going to be present for those events. For safety and liability sake coaches are charged with ensuring rules are followed.
By NCHSAA rules those athletes not in compliance are considered ineligible. Any games those athletes dressed will more than likely be forfeited. The NCHSAA has been consistent when it comes to punishment for ineligible participation. The real question is how did Reidsville athletics not catch it?I’m aware and all you are doing is restating that the admin is ultimately responsible. No one is questioning that but I guarantee a coach, or coaches, are also held responsible. Coaches will always play a part. They are usually the ones collecting the paperwork and turning it in. Athletic trainers are usually involved too. The admin signs off on what is given to them.
Also, it won’t or shouldn’t prevent NCHSAA from imposing penalties. Will be interesting to see how severe the punishment will be. Although they deny it there have always been rumors that this program gets special treatment. Guess we will see.
Many school systems do not allow you to practice until you are compliant through Dragonfly. It definitely is a cut and dry system with safeguards built into it to prevent situations like this smh..Players must upload to Dragonfly. Coaches as well, as they have to confirm CPR and other things.
Should be pretty cut and dry to see who has and hasnt uploaded information. Some programs have a "dragonfly day" where they get this all handled.

Let’s see if the NC legislature gets involved or will they let NCHSAA do their job.By NCHSAA rules those athletes not in compliance are considered ineligible. Incompetence at multiple levels. All kinds of paperwork for student athletes these days. Physicals, academic eligibility, Gfeller-Waller concussion protocols, transfer and residential paperwork, keeping up JV/Varsity participation and elegibity…..then there were the COVID protocols.
At the end of the day players and parents have to complete, team coaches oversee, AD double check, principal rubber stamp - but they are responsible for official paperwork and then their should be oversight from the County AD. My guess is there is culpability at all the levels. Sloppy and careless work more likely than a New Bern-like widespread fraudulence.
Incompetence at multiple levels.
Honestly that’s exactly what it is. Incompetence. In many instances where this happens it seems to always be a Principal who really is not that involved with sports trusting the AD and coaches to make sure everything is good. Many sports coaches are horrible or sloppy with the administrative aspects of their jobs, they just want to coach. There is enough blame to go around.Incompetence at multiple levels.
