Reidsville at Morehead Wednesday night

Ive sat here for 10 minutes trying to think of a Reidsville Ram player or from any team Ive seen that can match the speed of Flippen. He is Michael "The Rabbit" Waddell fast, if not faster. If you know, you know.

lyshod graves from the 2008 and 2009 squad would be close to Flippen....saw on another site that some Shelby fans think that their WR corps is the best in the state and no other team is even close.....I would take Flippen and Peoples over any other tandem in the state and far as that goes....several states.......................

That dude is something else. When I was hearing about him in middle school it sounded like breon pass. I think flippen is def the best sophomore wr ever at Reidsville.
Flippen is the most dangerous I've seen at Reidsville by far.
Stats say as much ...Flippen passed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the season with the 140-yard total (on 2 receptions) against Morehead. He's now got 17 TDs on 31 catches and is averaging an incredible 32.5 per catch.
Add 2 more TDs on rushing plays and another on a punt return.

Reidsville's greatest receivers ever are Jerome Simpson and Na Brown and they were standouts as sophomores.
Simpson had 26 catches as a soph for 336 yards and Brown had 45 catches his sophomore year for 730 yards.
Breon Pass had 38 catches for 701 yards his sophomore year.

Of course Brown and Simpson really exploded their final two seasons and went on to great collegiate careers and eventually played in the NFL ... Simpson ended his Reidsville career with 209 receptions and Brown had 195.

Flippen, now with 1006, joins these former Rams as 1,000-yard single season receivers:
Simpson 1493 in 2002 and 1324 in 2003
Brown 1301 in 1993 and 1219 in 1994
Isaiah Robinson 1500 in 1998
Raphael Chestnut 1209 in 2004
Rashad Slade 1200 in 1996
Randolph Galloway 1128 in 1995
Wayne Blackwell 1120 in 2003
Darius Cobb 1064 in 2001

Note that all those marks were set in senior seasons, except Simpson and Brown as juniors and seniors.

Reidsville fans, has there ever been a Reidsville/Morehead game that had any significance?
Wiz, in 1978 Morehead beat Reidsville 17-14 in the regular season finale to knock the Rams out of the playoffs. Seems like there was a three-way tie for the two playoff spots, necessitating a drawing and Reidsville drew the short straw. I think Western Guilford was the third team.

RamBBQ ... is that correct?

Manuel was a scholarship player at Va. Tech but as a basketball player...Morehead won the state 3A title in basketball in 1966 and Dale Manuel was the centerpiece player.....been years since Morehead/Reidsville football game was a big time game but there were several of those in the late 50's...some in the 70's and 90's.....Morehead won a state 3A title in football in 1957 at Rockingham (Richmond County) and lost to the same Rockingham High School in title game in 1958 in what is now called Eden....To those that don't know....Eden is actually from 3 separate communities that merged in 1967....Leaksville, Spray and Draper......
I had grandparents in Spray and Leaksville. I was born in 1949 in the old Leaksville General Hospital.
I can't believe I remember Manuals name. At 72, that came from over 50 years ago! Maybe on of the reasons I think he was sweet on a young lady I was attracted to but I can't remember all that part. I do remember his being a good player at VT. That was before the Curry era I think

Yeah...Ryan Hunt...his Dad Jamie Hunt one of the original Fantastic Four fans of Reidsville football fame........small world sometimes....I drive thru Clinton every thursday on my way to where my grandson lives...directly across from Croatan High school....he;s a ninth grader on the j.v. team and been moved up to varsity games last week and this week......be glad when the 421 and NC 24 road work gets finished....I avoid Raleigh like the plague when I head East....using 421 and NC 24......exactly 234.5 miles from my house to where they live....one side benefit....I now know where a lot of high schools that I've never seen before, are located......James Kenan...East Duplin, Richlands, Swansboro, etc............

Perhaps the most amazing stat is that more than half (55%) of Flippen's receptions have gone for TDs.

TGT, could you provide us with the TD % receptions for the other great Rams receivers on your list?

I went to ED a few years ago as they played North Davidson in the Eastern Final and won. They did a spectacular fireworks show as the team came out on the field. It was impressive. Better than NC States entrance to me.

Isaiah Robinson has the single season record for TD catches with 18. Breon Pass has the career record with 39.
Wayne Blackwell has the record for yards per catch with 30.2.
Need to do a lot more digging for the complete list.

See if you can calculate the % receptions that went for TDs.
