QUESTION

My understanding is far beyond yours. Have you considered that it is being shown to calculate TCR's RPI and then they will recalculate Robbinsville 's RPI? Finally, can you not understand that this is people trying to make the best out of an imperfect situation. The SMC will be impacted more than anyone, do you see any SMC person demanding answers? No. Sometimes you just have to trust that people will do their best and accept the results.
Sorry i freakin brought it up damn!!!! Yall just like to discount everything MA fans say. Enjoy basketball the Bears will go to the ship!!!

Nope. I am trying to help you grow as a person. I have a big job ahead. I do like the way you try to deflect from your deficiencies to focus on MA fans. I see you don't understand the wide spread impact of this situation. Using OWP and OOWP will impact many, many teams. That is a small impact compared to their efforts to try to provide a somewhat normal experience for student athletes. Think of the lifetime memories that were created by Avery 's victory last night. The state made the correct decision even if it possible impacts the seeding to a small degree.

Question. NCHSAA web site says Madison and Owen playing now. Owen is 1-7 and Madison is 1-6. Madison played Mt. Heritage. With Madison playing Owen, it seems to reason Mt. Heritage OOWP will drop. If Owen n wins, Mountain Heritage's OWP and OOWP will drop?
Mitchell played both Owen and Madison. So, going to impact a few teams.

Right?

I agree with your logic. It seems like it should.

If you will read that post again, Deanna didn't state that. She said she had heard that from a Robbinsville person. She qualified her statement, didn't state it as fact. If you quote someone you should be accurate . No one said MA would change, why are you deflecting again? For whatever reason it seems to be very important to you.

Since some people only read one thread, I will post the current game score here too.

Owen 27 Madison 27 Less than 3 minutes

Owen 33 Madison 27 1 minute left
Madison 34 Owen 33 Under a minute

Final: Madison 34 Owen 33

NCHSAA allowed for an 11th game to be played, but it was NOT supposed to count towards RPI. The Robbinsville game v TC should NOT count in Robinsville’s RPI, but SHOULD count for TC Roberson. The 5-6 record is harming 1A brackets but also harming 2A brackets (since Robbinsville played East Surry). I hope the NCHSAA adjusts this and fixes things to reflect the 10 games only.

You the one awful worried about my thoughts! I honestly dont care who wins what anymore. Im just enjoying watching these kids play the sport the love. If MA wins it all I will be happy for those young men and school I graduated from. If they dont its ok!!!!!!!!!

Well, the problem with your thoughts happens to be that they are often rants and spews of misinformation. A great example is when you misquoted Deanna.

The problem is that once the state allowed the 11th game, they created a problem with no simple solution. What you said is basically true. Let's look at the other side. TCR will receive a higher RPI because Robbinsville's record will not reflect the loss. This will also impact their opponents RPI. In essence it will be much like throwing a stone in a lake, the ripples will continue. In theory it will spread to all classes.

I just read this on a MSN News post.

  • Make sure all games are entered into your schedule and include final scores.
  • If you are playing an 11th game, make sure this game is not included on your MaxPreps schedule. 11th games, which were allowed for schools not impacted by Helene, do not count towards RPI.
  • If any of these things are not reported accurately by a school, it could cause significant delays in releasing the brackets.

The problem is that TC reported it because it was not their 11th game. When one team reports a game MaxPreps will automatically add it to the other teams schedule. The easiest and possibly the best solution is to not count the game for either team.

NCHSAA is allowing the 11th game to stand for Robbinsville. Robbinsville (and anyone they played) are negatively impacted, TC positively impacted by getting another win and increasing their RPI.

Robbinsville will live to regret that. Instead of benefitting for an extra "practice" game, it hurt their RPI, everyone they played and everyone their opponents played. Plus, they get a loss on their record which shouldn't be. No benefit for playing and a lot of people were thinking this is a good way to work on things. Not sure anyone saw this coming. Cherokee, Murphy and others impacted. Not just Robbinsville.

That may be why it is taking so much longer for the Preliminary brackets to come out from what I have read !

Its why I ask this question and was told i was being ridiculous. I knew ot would be BS at end of the day.
It was always going to be a mess with the 11th game. In the end it did allow some normalcy for those in WNC and we will never know how much of an impact it actually made. However, I will acknowledge you as the "King of BS"!

How many teams in the area took advantage of that 11th game. Most that were affected didn’t complete there regular schedule

Not many. The extra week was to allow the teams to make up games they had missed and possibly schedule another one. . The 11th game was to allow teams not to have a bye before they were going into the playoffs or in some cases consecutive byes.
