Saw something on the 1A board this morning that there is a 1A west team that has reported 11 games on maxpreps and their RPI and everyone they have played is wrong because of it. They said it would affect the RPI of several playoff teams who are in other classifications and change seeds in several brackets.

Robbinsville had TC Roberson on MaxPreps. That gave them 11 games. Your 11th game wasn’t supposed to go on MaxPreps. The problem is TC did not play 11. So they need the game on MaxPreps. It was my understanding you could only play an 11th game against another team playing an 11th game. This was not. So it is a mess

Correct. Everyone was given the same directives - 11th game was only supposed to be between teams who had already maxed out regular season (which is why it wasn’t to be entered into Maxpreps). NCHSAA has decided to leave the 11th game in rather than remove the game from Maxpreps and treat it as a “no contest.” TC benefits by increasing winning percentage and RPI but Robbinsville and their opponents are harmed. Not quite sure if omitting it would be enough to help Murphy jump from 3 seed to 2 seed in 1A, but allowing 11 games to be calculated will cause East Surry to drop from 5 seed to 6 seed in 2A west.

It also affects anyone who has played a team that played Robbinsville. This is far reaching and every school involved needs to contest the bracket because their RPI will be affected.

I’d bet they are getting hammered with complaints and protests by everyone negatively affected by this. But I can’t see them changing their position
