Private School Advantages vs Public.

If you truly want to educate yourself go study Oklahoma and what's happened to their education system in the last 15 years or so. There isn't a bit of winning going on.

There is a reason why red states have such high poverty and low education levels.
And yet Baltimore, in blue Maryland surrounded by the wealthiest counties in the country, spends $22,000 per student per year and has 13 high schools where ZERO students tested proficient on state math exams.
Maybe it's time to try something different.

That can’t be right. Thunder studies this stuff 24/7 and knows exactly what’s going on with the education system nationwide

Why don't y'all go to Baltimore and figure it out. I know a couple of neighborhoods that I bet you won't walk down.

Convenient to change the subject. Doesn't change what's happening in rural America and the damage that is being done.

The more uneducated people are, the easier it is to sell snake oil.

Yes, since 1967 the mayors of Baltimore have been democrats. Democrats don't want people educated !

Zero students proficient in math, $22k per year.
And the subject is failure of education policy. You pointed to the issues in “red states”, but when I point out the catastrophic failure of a Dem controlled system that’s somehow “changing the subject”. Why don’t you accept that the taxpayers up there are not getting any value for their money.

Oh but a blue state is the worse. Then what you said about red states was a lie. Heck the whole country is pretty red except for a few states with big cities. Look who was number one

You guys look like you’re having lots of fun…sorta.,
Anyway I read this link it was quite interesting really.. I did notice Florida is the overall number one in educatione. Good for them. However if you look a little closer that overall number one is due to the college/university ranking which is the best in the country. PreK through 12 grade, which I believe yall keep going around about, Florida comes in at #10. While this is still very respectable it ain’t the best. Did I read any farther on? Nope because I’m lazy so I have no idea which state ranks first in that category 🤷‍♂️

Flordia is #10 Pre-K-12 with Republican Governors since January 5, 1999. (#1 in Education)
#9 in Best States Overall

North Carolina is #26 Pre-K-12 with Democrat Governors since January 1, 2017. (#21 in Education)
#19 in Best States Overall

Ron DeSantis is a good and will be president sometime in the near future, JMO.

Thanks TD for reading further. Who was #1? I honestly don’t know. Also since that link was posted I ran across other lists with different criteria thus different rankings so who knows.
Not sure on that future president but I’ve been wrong before

TD, would you agree that, at least in North Carolina, the role of Governor has very little to do with this issue? It is the legislature that determines funding, that removed the cap on charter schools, that gives vouchers and that tried to take over the NCHSAA. So if we’re going to retreat into our political corners, we should at least acknowledge the reality of who’s in charge.
