Private School Advantages vs Public.

I am the one who knows what he is talking about since I have been watching these boards since around 2010 and I have seen way more than you. You know the school you pull for gets kids from more than 25 miles away and not just a couple of kids as you want us to believe.... lol Private & Charter will be together sooner or later, mark my word. And don't I say the same dumb stuff again.
Charter is the ones that recruits and you know it ! ! ! You are fooling no one on these boards, everyone kniows !
No, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Misinformation when there are Charters that offer buses and most charters do....
Not to get in y’all’s thing but…
According to what I could find on the internet there are approximately 210ish Charters in the state of North Carolina. 117 of those provide busses. While technically most is correct, it’s still not an overwhelming majority.
Sorry I like looking stuff up. 🤷‍♂️

Exactly right. As I stated in my earlier example, it’s much easier for a more affluent family to provide transportation to and from the charter school than a family who financially struggles as a 15 mile drive to a school can be a major deterrent when busing is not an option.

And the number has more than doubled since the legislature removed the 100 school cap in 2011.

Serious question in this here ultra serious thread…
Currently how many teams in the NCHSAA RPI for 1A West top ten are traditional high schools?
Yes I do know the answer already…😀

And I didn’t. I pointed out the fact that some Charter Schools do not offer transportation throughout its 25 mile radius.
Now, that is more like it. You said, "Some"....you good now.

One of these days, the " teacher " Miss Mildred, the half blow up doll, half AI generated teacher , will meet and greet the students that arrive her classroom by announcing the heavily annunciated mantra of, " Here..is..your...disc...thang...put ...it...in...your....computer...and...complete...lessons...one....through...five, " Then she'll accomplish what she calls her " sexy stroll " to her desk, where she'll go to her FaceLook page and snicker at her friend's post claiming that she dined on pickled eggs and sardines for lunch, while the students that refused to put their disc into the personalized computers sit in the back of the room listening to Canned Heat and weaving baskets for their Basket Weaving and Cement Pond Cleaning classes that they fell behind on because they were protesting the quality of the cavier and lobster at the Luncheon Room and Funk-A-Torium.

Wilkes County set to cut 70 jobs bc lack of funding from state. Its about to get bad.
NC has PLENTY of money to fund public education but they chose not to. Why? Because it’s easier to demonize them in order to scare voters and win elections. Place the blame and promise that charters are the answer because local school boards don’t really care about your kid. Then make sure to support private schools with vouchers because guess where political money comes from. Maybe you guys need to wake up, you know the “woke” that you make fun of. The gap between the haves and the have nots will continue to get bigger, and guess what, small communities are not on the right side of that equation.

I know you sent your kids to Bishop, but I appreciate your support and views on public schools.

Thanks. Both my parents were mill workers and I grew up in a small mill town with a great public school education. The way public school teachers and administration are portrayed is a national disgrace. We have teachers who work all day and then into the night on behalf of their students at a ridiculous pay schedule (the number of hours actually worked with that low monthly pay,,, very few of the posters on this board would ever work for that bottom line. Oh, not including teachers reaching into their own wallets for supplies). But they have been demonized, part of the problem we're told, and the solution is to defund the Department of Education and let the parents take control over the classroom and the curriculum. Want to scream at the top of my lungs at the lunacy.

Maybe true at the state level but come on you have to admit what we had as President and Kamala was a shit show. It was so bad that America voted for a man with felony's. Biden wasnt punished for his crap bc of age but yes he is dirty.

Don't think for a second that anyone of either party cares about you on a national level. Their job is to point fingers, scare you, take you money, take your vote and when in office ignore you until the next time they need your money and votes. That's how you win national elections. Here in NC you have to play ball with the national folks or you get primaried and lose funding and you're out on your ass. Once in Raleigh you play ball with those in power in your party, which is again all about power, control and money. You get those things by demonizing people or institutions, people relate to fear not logic and facts. Bitching and moaning about charters being "unfair" will never move the needle at all. Those people who represent you are going to vote for more charters, that's not going to change. Those who rep mountain, rural and beach communities (the 1A/2A communities) need to hear from local elected officials and voters to work with the NCHSAA to devise of plan to separate the charters, not because the charters are bad but because of the effect that high school sports has on their small communities. No one in Charlotte cares if Corvian wins the 1A championship, there's no community there. Everyone in Murphy, Cherokee, Mt. Airy, and so on cares if they win, because the community wins as well. That's what your elected officials need to hear.

And in that discussion throw in the parochial schools as well. No one, outside of parents and alums, in Kernersville, High Point, Greensboro and Winston cares if Bishop wins championships. Its a faith based school, not a community school. Bishop has on multiple occasions asked to play up but were denied. Bishop won titles and many times at the expense of small communities who decades later can tell stories of players, coaches, games that no one outside of Bishop remembers past a month. That's how to approach the folks in power, don't demonize what they are voting for, don't demonize the parochials and charters because they're not evil and let the powers that be understand how a simple change can elevate communities for decades in small communities across the state.

and lastly tell those reps to quit screwing traditional public schools because they're the lifeblood of our country long after we're all gone. (sorry for the rant)

I don't think people realize how much of a disaster it will be eliminating the Department of Ed will be. The state doesn't handle education funds now as they should. What makes people think they'll do it properly for federal programs?

For the love of God can you please focus on the state level for once. Biden doesn't impact your life nearly as much as Sarah Stevens and Eddie Settle do.

And don't come at me with grocery bull malarkey because Trump has already thrown that notion out the window.

But sure, what a mess, Linda McMahon running the department of ed among other unqualified misfits.
