Prelim Brackets 4 - Final

Monroe gonna jump Providence Grove and Hendersonville??
In my predictions yes. As it stands now...PG only has a 0.00247 lead over Monroe. That is easily erased and overtaken by Monroe beating a 6-3 Forest Hills team because PG's presumable victory over a 3-7 Wheatmore team is going to hurt them more than help them. My predictions give Monroe a new RPI of 0.62181 (was 0.60162) and PG a 0.60400 (was 0.60409).

Same goes for Hendo, their RPI of 0.62865 will drop due to playing Patton who is 2-6. I have Hendo's new RPI coming in at 0.62023 (drop of 0.00842), with Monroe gaining 0.02019 in RPI (in my predictions), this sets them at 0.62181 as stated above. This gives them an edge of 0.00158.

In reality that isn't a whole lot at all...a difference of an opponent having 1 extra win somewhere. Monroe not playing a full schedule has helped them immensely, being able to avoid bad opponents has helped their RPI. Take my Maiden Blue Devils for example, we have two teams that are winless and count as a 0.00000 winning percentage in our calcs...without those we could be way higher in RPI. All Maiden can do is hope that Fred T Foard beats St Stephens this Friday and that West Caldwell beats East Burke, that'll get rid of our 0's in our equation. That would make them both 1-9, which would be factored in as 1-8 since we're one of their losses, and accounting for that would increase our RPI to 0.66869 (+ 0.01). Which in the grand scheme of things here wouldn't change any seeding at all. But in most places up and down the chart here an increase of 0.01 changes things for a lot of people.

Here are my top 20 teams in 2A according to my RPI, based off my predictions and re-calculating the RPI:

One day away from knowing what's what. I'm interested to see how it all shakes out
We are too! Bearcat.

For the record….I’d rather play any of the top 10 in the first round….than playing our own conference teams again Ugh!
If Grizz’s prediction holds true…we could potentially play our own conference teams in the first 2 rounds! Double ugh!😔

Walkertown out! Wow!

That’s..

Salisbury vs Mt. Pleasant…1st round.

Maiden vs North Stanly…1st round

Reidsville vs Newton Conover…1st round

East Surry vs Randleman….1st round

I’m excited again! Grizz!…I love these matchups!

My friend, please take no offense, but we in this conference don't want to play Maiden again, either. Can I get an Ouch ! from last week.😵

Hendersonville played Patton on Tuesday and won 70-20... their ranking has already dropped by playing them....I had it when I was working on brackets it was .63040 it dropped to what it is now after the game... so it shouldn't drop again by beating Patton...

Question for Reidsville fans I'm rewatching the 2005 2-aa state title game and they mentioned the QB name was Eric Teague. Is he coach Jimmy teagues son? If so I never knew he had a son that played football.

Reading Salsibury post, Salsibury ended reg season with 518 points and giving up 27. This west bracket is going to get interesting around 3rd rd of playoffs. Shelby does play Salsibury. Count me in to come and watch. Or Reidsville n Salsibury. Or Reidsville n Shelby.

Thanks rambbq. Tell your grandson I was serious when I told him to come to West Craven!!

Great job on this but I do have one question. How confident are you in South Granville being seeded as a wild card? Big difference in that seed for them as well as other teams (WRH) as it would have a ripple effect.

Other projections I have seen have SG with the #1s?
YEP….ripple effect!….we’re gonna have to replay it!😂

FOUL!!!

1ST 2nd or 3rd and/or at least 0.500 record to be seeded as a 1CC.

South G is a wild card currently
You had them at wild card last year in your projected bracket….but….they were seeded as a conference champion.

I want to know why?…are we misinterpreting the rule?

Owen was 4-6 last year as well…and yet…they were not seeded as a conference champion.

Why?

Last year they finished 3rd in their conference...I was wrong bc I assumed with a loosing record thatv3rd didn't matter
