I have heard for a while that Pack was wanting to come home… also that it could be a hire from within the current staff. Either way I’m afraid the wolverines are looking at some down years ahead. Also hoping that what I have heard about Polk going back to 1a is true…. Not enough players to be really competitive in 2A
Would be a dangerous team in the 1A ranks.

Congrats to Coach Ollis. A great FB coach and even a better man. He has mentored so many young men during his over40 years of coaching. Bruce could always take less and do more. All players and coaches should feel very fortunate to have been a part of his coaching tree. He loved his players and staff.

Personally I think Polk is a amazing place for a coach ….. community support is good … the field house and weight room are great !! Small county and beautiful scenery. I personally think that it’s a dream place to coach …
To add to that. Usually a better than average 2A team that could be 1A soon. Could be a tough team to beat in 1A.
They would likely go back to the Western Highlands. I’d like to see Burns and Shelby take their place in the Mountain Foothills. We need some better football competition. The SPC 1A/2A would need to pick up another team, maybe Patton. All that is unlikely to happen though other than Polk back to the WHC but a man can dream. Maybe they put Polk in our conference but I’d rather stay at 7 if we’re gonna be stuck in this SPC 1A/2A til 2025.
I wouldn't guarantee down years I know kids still have to develope but the middle school team at polk has been division champs for the past 2 years running that's over the likes of brevard hendersonville and west Henderson middle schools there's some talent there for the right coach hoping it's a good hire as my boy starts at the high school nxt year. Also I hope your right about 1a too in all reality that's where we belong same exact adm as mountain heritage but we had to play 2a because of the stupid formula they used during the last alignment.
That was my first thought when I read this job was open was Coach Pack going home. I know that him and one of the principles have a connection from back in the Burns Middle days.... I don't know whats the deal with NC but I do know Pack is a great coach and I wish him well if he applies.

No. You must be thinking of his youngest son Jordan. He left a couple years ago to coach in Cali. It's rumored that he might've applied, but I think he is a longshot to get the job.

I've also heard, now I can't completely say if this is true. But among the candidates are Crest's head coach, Patton's Head Coach, Joey Robinson from Mountain Heritage, a couple candidates internally as well.
I really don’t see Jim Sosebee leaving Crest he has the entire community and booster support behind him right now. But Joey would be pretty cool he has done an outstanding job at Heritage.. but I think the hire comes from within the current staff. I do think the job should get a great deal of attention.
I don't see Sosebee leaving either but he is good friends with the current DC at Polk. In fact, Sosebee offered Thompson (Polk's DC) the DC job at Crest.
Well Crest did just loose their DC to East Rutherford……. So … maybe Jamie goes to crest ??
Could be. I would think Crest is the better job but with Polk moving to 1A there may be a better opportunity at Polk to win titles than at Crest in a very competitive 3A(?)
If you want drama and big games go to Crest !! But I don’t think Crest is a long term job … have a bad season or two and you will be run out of town. But if you want to possibly play for a state title Crest is the school
Crest didn't loose their DC. Carlos was a position coach (DL). Great move for him as he tries to climb the coaching ladder.
Why would Sosebee leave Crest? They are LOADED grades 8-11 the 9th grade class has D1 players all over the place. One of the most die hard faithful Charger fans just LHAO when I ask him about it. He said dynamite couldn‘t blow Sosebee away from Crest with all the talent for now and the future.

I agree about Sosebee leaving Crest … the future is very very bright for the Chargers I’m looking forward to watching them over the next few years. And yes I believe the hire will come from the current staff …. And should …. He seems to be a very good coach and the kids really like him
Plus that JV squad he's got coming up should put them back in the black on the left side of the win column.
I did hear that Sosbee was at the Top of the "wish" list. They were hoping that him being great friends with JT and Coach O would help... I'm going with not gonna happen! I don't think $$$$ could get that guy out of Crest now! Looking forward to seeing who Polk gets, either their OL coach or NC Coach would be good choices!
Polk is a great job and a great place.
