Playoff Predictions

I see 2A, would love someone to do the legwork for 1A playoff predictions.

For what it's worth the Charlotte Observer came out with a projection a little while back and the New & Observer has done the same within the last week (link). There seems to be confusion as to how Wild Cards are seeded. The article says all "3" seeds from conferences will be seeded, then "4" seeds, then "5" seeds...however, NCHSAA website says after automatic qualifiers are seeded, wild cards will be seeded based on Maxpreps rankings. Based on the N&O projections, a team like East Surry (12-9 overall, 25th overall in 1A MP ranking) is out because they are the 5th seed in the brutal NW1A (which is the home of 1st, 4th, 5th, & 6th ranked 1A teams respectively according to MP). Also based on the N&O projections a team like Mitchell (4-15 overall, 58th overall in 1A MP ranking) is in because they are tied for 3rd in the Western Highlands 1A/2A split conference (although the guidelines posted on the NCHSAA website say that only 1 automatic qualifier is guaranteed from a split conference that has 4 or less teams from each classification. Supposedly the change was made at the NCHSAA winter board meetings, but I haven't been able to find any notes, minutes, etc. from the meeting posted online or on the NCHSAA website. At this point, who really knows!

The NCHSAA is a complete mess when it comes to doing brackets. An absolute train wreck.
